Once again, it's the fault of two of the franchises best players.

You know what's (frank)ing amazing? It's always the Sedins or Luongo's fault, maybe sometimes Kesler. We wouldn't have been playing for a Stanley Cup if it wasn't for those players.

But yet we have moved up almost 10 spots in the standings in three seasons. It's slow, but it's happening. We may not all agree on how to get there but it is in motion.

You have to admit however, that resigning the Sedins, Not be able to move Lou as he handcuffed us and Kesler as well (he should have been traded in 2012) did put this club in a crappier spot for a few years. We're past it now but 'keeping the Sedins here to make another run' didn't exactly help this team move forward lol

On the bright side, for this upcoming season, no Pouliot, MDZ, Gudbranson or Hutton.
That alone is a plus, but not sure I can watch another game with Loui on the ice.

They could have gotten enough picks and prospects that they'd be competitive again in 3 years, meaning 2014. Instead they still struggling in 2019...

To those who played sports on any level that have a level on their shoulders know its sweet to be champs. I’ve played many sports growing up & as an adult & been a part of many results.

Final year of Little League knocked out of the regionals 2-0 by the team that lost in the Canadian finals. Last year of Babe Ruth we were unfeated. Adult fastball 1st year 1-15 & 2yrs later league & PO Champs. Mixed fastpitch 1st year 1-15 & 2yrs later B2B Provincial Champs.

Minor Football 1st year unfeated. 2 yrs later undefeated & league & PO Champs.

Hockey 1 yr of a good house league team 1yr of a very good Allstar league team & all the rest bottom feeders.

All in all played to win & always had fun & never quit. Never played a sport with a losers mentality & never was a fan of those that did. Sport is adversity & ALL about how you face up to it even as a fan.

The cinderella ‘82 Canucks was great fun & a ride nobody saw coming. That team set the bar for what character & will can achieve. Fans loved the blue collar run to the SCF & it took a dynasty team to derail them. Harry Neale suspended. Captain Video was allowed to remain the bench boss. White towel power. The Canuck mobile going to NYC. Na Na hey hey good bye. A team that went down in the lore of Canuck hockey & yet many fans called it lucky or a fluke. Yes any team can surprise if they make the dance. The passion of the fans behind that team can never be surpassed.

The funny thing is these guys have NMC cuz they want to stay ...then they are told they aren’t wanted and can’t stay ...so they then have to go to another team while helping the team who no longer wants them ...guys like Sundin were criticized terribly ...good on him for saying (frank) you if I’m going your not getting better cuz of it

Yes they’re still at the bottom of the league, but as mentioned, there’s an excellent young group forming, if they can continue to build on that they won’t end up like the Oilers. A team which also had a good young group forming before some absolutely terrible moves were made to badly regress them.

I agree. All the more reason not trading Markstrom baffles me. A cheap goaltender at his peak value in an offseason where Bobrovsky scored a bathsalts contract from a team that spent the 13th pick on an overrated goaltending prospect. We should’ve capitalized. Demko should be the guy when we’re ready to contend with this core - why not use Markstrom’s current value to add to the future & then find a vet to split time with Demko as needed 🤷‍♂️.

Because that makes too much sense. Im willong to bet Markstrom walks at the end of thebuear for nothing. They wanna make playoffs and wont trade him. They wont have money to resign him if he has a good year cause of how poopty the cap management has been
