Looks like we’re going with 2 forwards and 3 defense on the ice. That’s a bold move, cotton!

I lay no claim to having any connections, nor have I ever my friend, don't assume. 👍

Mine is just a common sense, gut hunch is all.

Nothing more, nothing less.
I repeat, I have no "connections".

It just makes sense that there is a bigger deal percolating.
At least to me anyway but then again, I have been wrong often in my days.

To be 'Jesus' honest, some here worry far too much about being right.
Where as I don't care about being right in the least.

Oh enough, dude. You came in here repeatedly over the past few weeks dropping "info" and it's mostly just cryptic bullocks, unlike the other guys on here who have sources and share information.

Stop being cute and acting like you know anything, you never even came close to calling this, or anything so far, for that matter.

If you say Risto and etc... for so and so and it goes down soon thereafter, so be it, but this is non-sense.

His plan is swapping bottom-6 guys and prospects so far.

- BeadyEyedDouche

He called Simmonds to the Sabres

If by called, you mean a cryptic "peepers" emoji 👀👀👀👀

Lol.
Everyone except Gerbe has been trying to trade Bustlander.

Didn’t think we get a 1st to 2nd pairing Defenseman

That trade will be a win for both teams

From Nylanders call.

Sounds like he may have wanted out.

Very sad.

Always liked the player.

I remember the NHLPA taking shots at him because he took less to stay in Nashville.

I would not say that Q loved Jokiharju. I think it would be more accurate to say he was the best of a bunch of really bad choices on a pretty terrible blue line for Chicago, until they did the right thing and let him play in the Worlds and develop. Granted it was before Murphy was healthy, but I would not put to much weight on his +/-. The team stunk up to 1/1.

I don't see any way that the Hawks won this trade. Chicago has transitioned back to "win now" mode, and it is difficult to see Nylander being much of an asset in the January through April period when you have to fight for your chances.

Anything's possible, but it seems FL could've just given Chicago a better prospect than Nylander for him. I'm seeing that Q loved him, first pair guy; but I also see "loved playing with him with (the safety net that is) Duncan Keith". FL has no Keith type to pair him with, and they already have plenty of puck movers. Tallon has wanted to add a few more defensive minded D since taking back over as GM. Is Joker all offense? I know nothing about the joker to have an opinion of him, though. FL may very well be interested, for all I know. To be honest, I think FL would be more interested in Borgen.
- Ratsreign

maybe Chicago i.e. bowman did not want to do business with florida and quinnville??we have to make some kind of move

Is the sky still falling???

Or are ppl finally chilling the f*ck out?

Look everyone...
Botts is making moves
Just like we all could’ve LOGICALLY assumed on June28th instead of freaking out
*Homie, this is not specifically a shot at you
PLENTY of ppl were prematurely freaking out

I know both 89 & Homie have said Risto isn’t moving...
but with another RH defenseman acquired,
gotta wonder if he’s next

- jdfitz77

I wasn't expecting a ton in FA, and certainly no big names/contracts. I expressed that it would likely be 2 or 3 Tier 3 signings.
I also thought there would be 2 trades, 1 involving Risto to bolster the O.
My "freakout" was and remains that the traditional trade windows had closed by this time last week, coupled with the fact several teams had then addressed their D needs with alternatives. Most trades come in the "lesser" types, such as that we saw today.
Could we see a major trade, absolutely. However the pool of prospective suitors was narrowing.
I still feel that way.

That said, Botts has exceeded my realistic expectations for this offseason already with the quality of moves he has made this far. He gets a solid A in my book. Move a RhD+ now for another solid 2C or 1/2RW and he has my vote for NHL GM if the Year already.

If he's motivated, he will help. And if he stays healthy he will help. Two things he couldn't do here. Add to that Murray making him the youngest player in the AHL after he was drafted, and it's been a disappointing 3 years here in the system. Hopefully it works for both teams

Only Rasmus Dahlin and Miro Heiskanen (82 games each) played more NHL games last season as a teenaged defenseman than Henri Jokiharju (38). In fact, no other teenaged d-man played more than 7 games. #ThanksStan

If it's a legit 2nd line center or scoring winger, BYE BYE.
- SABRES 89

Thing is...
although we may need a 2C for this year,
we are actually STACKED at Center for the future
Eichel
Mitts
Cozens (good 2way game)
Asplund (good 2way game)

Those guys could ALL be ready for those roles by next season

If we really need to get a bum like Brassard for a year, then i guess that’s fine
But i don’t want us trading Risto for that guy

If we trade Risto,
then it should (hopefully) be for an Ehlers type scoring winger

And i still wouldn’t mind Ferland if the price has dropped on him as a UFA
Dzingel is interesting if the price/term are right too

While in the NHL, Jokiharju was CHI's best defender at preventing entries, creating zone exits, and best primary shot contributor, all while on his ELC.
