2 or 3 scrubs off the roster so there is spots for olofsson, nylander in the top 9

and tage if he is ready

addition by subtraction

same for the D if they are keeping mccabe, looks that way for now

you need to move 2 of the 3 pylons, bogo, scandella and hunwick

Neither.

Toffoli is the next Kyle Okposo contract.

He will get 6 mil and produce 30-40 points a year.

He had one good year 4 years ago and has been meh since.

Olofsson will be in the top 9, possibly the top 6.

No faith in Nylander as an NHL player. I went to 3 Amerks games last year and in two of them he dogged it.

Not sure if Tage makes the roster, best thing for his development is go to Rochester, tear it up.

Don't sign Larry, waive Sobotka and Wilson.

No clue what they will do with the D.

If no more moves

Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Johnasson-Mitts-Reinhart
Vesey-ERod-Sheary
Girgs-Asplund-Okposo

Dahlin-Montour
McCabe-Risto
Scandella-Miller

Hopefully we are not done. A center and RW would help.

Cheers!

Olofsson making the team, playing on the top line, and switching positions is a lot to ask.

I dislike VO on the RW. He has never done it from I can recall.

Justin Williams
Would be great.

Skinner - Eichel - Reinhart
Johansson - Mitts - Williams
VO - Erod - Vesey
Sheary - Asplud - Okposo

Marcus Johansson sees the Buffalo Sabres as a team that's on the verge of breaking out.
That motivated Johansson to sign a two-year, $9 million contract with the Sabres. Buffalo posted a 33-39-10 record last season to miss the playoffs for an eighth straight campaign, but it's certainly true that they have a lot of promising young talent. "All these young guys, the more they play, the more they learn. I think you get more and more experience," Johansson said. "I think last year they showed in the beginning of the year how capable they are of playing good hockey. You just got to keep it at a good level throughout most of the season, through all these highs and lows. Try to keep everyone positive and keep everyone moving forward even though you have rough times and everything. With all these young players being so good, they learn from everything. With all the talent they have, it’s going to go well." Getting Johansson certainly helps. He adds scoring depth and provides them with a veteran presence.

I get the feeling that the lines are going to be pretty fluid for the majority of the season.
Lots of options to evaluate, to which needs to be a major objective for the season. Clearly identify who sticks where a d where the holes are for next offseason when they are rich with Cap Space.

He played some at RW for Frolunda if I'm not mistaken and I know he was the RW on their PP. I just love the idea of him on his off wing with Eichel. In my view he is the most likely candidate to switch amongst the LW's. I hate the idea of Sheary on the right. It won't work.

If Nylander or Tage were NHL ready, we wouldn't be having this discussion whether VO, Sheary or Vesey should play RW.

Cheers!

It's not easy to get good info on LW/RW. Oloffson, Sheary, and Skinner didn't do it at all last year. ERod and Nylander rarely do it and are noticeably weaker players. Johansson and Vesey have played a decent amount there, I believe. Sobotka and Girgs did it a lot.

If Sobotka at RW was the best option last year, I cringe at the situation.

I would swap Johannson and Olofsson in this line up.

Johannson likely has more success on the right, but I think is better suited for helping Mitts.

This just shows they need to shore up RW or C.

I think once he moved from modo to frolunda, he basically has been LW.

It would be a shame to (frank) up his confidence by having him switch sides if it doesn't work out. Might have to be done though. It's either him or Johansson who will not be playing LW imo

If they're not going to trade Risto for a center, trade McCabe and Sheary for a natural RW

Craig Ramsay won the Selke, heard about how many games he played in a row incessantly back in the day, was compared to Bob Gainey, has MVP of the Development Camp named after him. I think he was and is appreciated.
