I remember before the U18 I had said to you I had heard he was the most NHL ready and a very reliable two way player. I believe your response was even more reasom to draft him.

DCT was not a fan though

He was in my top 5 for basically the entire year until the end which I dropped him to 7th.

DCT has a thing for high octane offensive only players that are super flashy. Him and I see things differently.

From those highlights, Podz looks like he has quite a bit of room to grow and get stronger on the puck. Already strong on his skates. If he had a bit better hands and improved his shot. I don't see why he wouldn't have been in consideration for first overall.

When I did see him finally play I did think he had top 3 skill but I always feared the Russian thing like most of the people here.

I really like the first two picks. I am trying to curb my enthusiasm but we all know there is no chance in hell of that.

I was impressed & high on Pod initially but lack of info i dropped him down a lot. I guess many teams did for some reason or another.

Overall really happy with Pod & Hoagie. They will bring a lot of energy & intensity. Going to look up the other picks & get more familiarity.

I don't really fear the Russian thing. If there was a real fear then I think you would have found out at the combine and he would have went WAY later.

Ed Willes giving me a good laugh again. He's apart of the world is ending club.

Maybe that’s good enough for a fan base which has endured so much over the last four years. But it just seemed this off-season represented a missed opportunity for the organization; a chance to demonstrate their managerial acumen while plotting a bold new course.

A bold new course? Willes is probably really fantastic at NHL 20 manager mode.

Instead, they took on more contracts. Benning did all right with his acquisitions. But after five years, is all right good enough?

Improving the team isn't good enough for some I guess.

Johnston and Kuzma just report what's going on. They're fine. It's the guys where the sky is falling because another team won the cup.

I think his ceiling is a Taylor hall type of winger, which would be fantastic. Who knows when or if he appears but people should definitely be excited about his potential.

I think Kuzma is like Carol and gives the unbiased report. Johnson is starting to get into this is how I would do it category

Standard. Team's going to win because of what happens after that.

JB has a higher standard than other GM's

4th round pick looks good too because that's who I wanted to be picked.

If Roussel has a medical report he will miss 10 games or 24 days he gains us $3m cap.

The photos are real, and are still up on his main Instagram timeline, not even in his stories. He's not acting like he has anything to hide. I think that could just be his arm under the towel, and a clenched fist?

The good news is that we shouldn't have to wait long to find out. We might even get a clue when the Da Beauty League rosters get released on Monday.

No, I have a thing for creative players with high hockey IQs. Podkolzin hasn’t shown that IMO - but I admit he hasn’t really had an opportunity to... He played a max of like 14 or 15 games with each team he was on last year. Admittedly, extremely difficult to find chemistry with teammates & adjust to coaches systems/expectations in that short a period.

I love his compete level & of the 3 highly rated forwards I didn’t want (Caufield/Cozens being the others), he was the one I had the least problems with - ranked him in the late teens. I still think Hoglander has 1st line potential, and until Podkolzin shows me more vision/smarts, I think he’s a middle 6 high compete guy who will contribute secondary scoring. Love him for Bo. Highly doubt he ever meshes with Elias.

Everyone’s first two picks always look good, that’s why the teams picked them, it’s only been recently, because of excellent draft position and good choices, that they’ve actually been good as well as looked good.
