Fake news?
- Bettmanhatesus

The photos are real, and are still up on his main Instagram timeline, not even in his stories. He's not acting like he has anything to hide. I think that could just be his arm under the towel, and a clenched fist?

The good news is that we shouldn't have to wait long to find out. We might even get a clue when the Da Beauty League rosters get released on Monday.

Also...

I updated the blog, because I missed a Summer Showcase player. He's in there now.

The Canucks' 19-year-old fifth-rounder Carson Focht is also a Team Canada invitee.

Also - I didn't state this explicitly. Russia doesn't take part in the Summer Showcase, so I don't have any news on what Vasily Podkolzin's up to this summer.

He just turned 18 after draft weekend, so he's eligible for two more World Juniors after playing here in Vancouver last year. Very rare to see a player suit up for three tournaments.

The KHL regular season starts September 1, so we'll start seeing training camp and exhibition news from Russia in August.

aiming high for Canuck 50th season.

I wouldn't say I am aiming high. I said last season 81 points. They managed that and I thought they would be a little less injured not more.

With the additions so far and the progression/regression of younger players. I think currently with what the roster looks like they could get 96 points. Of course depends on health of a few players.

They may or may not get into the playoffs.

Thanks Carol. Podkolzin news will be very welcome. What do you think Focht's chances are on making the Canadian team?

No one really mentioned anything about some of the lower draft picks from the development camp.

There was a bunch of talk about the older players how they were better and Hoglander.

When Brackett talked about the draft, he seemed genuinely excited about a few of the later round picks. Personally I don't get too excited about drafting 19 year olds unless their stats are off the charts.

I was waiting on Daniel Wagner to give a rundown but he seems to be coming pretty slowly with them now.

With Development Camp coming early this year, the prospects got kind of buried in the run-up to free agency.

I plan to roll out more detailed profiles of the new recruits this month. Stay tuned.

Daren Millard has said Marner has received an Offer sheet but it hasn't signed it yet. Didn't say who.

Someone made this a week ago about Podkolzin from his WJC highlights. He is a very different player than he was playing in the u18s.

This kid is going to be better than anyone of us might have expected. Show's a much more rounded game playing with better players.

I remember before the U18 I had said to you I had heard he was the most NHL ready and a very reliable two way player. I believe your response was even more reasom to draft him.

DCT was not a fan though

No need to for us all to over-react. He's simply covering up the offer sheet he just signed with Minnesota!
