I must say though i am pissed at not moving up to 5th to get Seider before picked or 7th before Broberg. That Holland & Yzerman are crafty dudes.

JB is a lame duck for sure now...

Strangely enough, you were only pissed for about an hour after he picked "vpod" instead of Boldy whom you touted for months.

I was probably more pissed that he didn't trade down when clearly there was a willing partner (AZ)

I wasn’t pissed & never posted such. I was surprised Pod fell & we picked him. I said for months to trade down. Had no clue the Einsteins ahead of us would show up Jimbo making the picks they did.

I also recall i had Smallfield out of the top 10 & Boldy a good chance to fall to us.

Nope. I just call my Sikh buddy & get some contacts for some labour that works for peanuts.

Yup real fortunate EP fell to us. I was hoping the same happened when McDavid was drafted. At least we gut lucky once.

JTM hasn’t played a game yet to make that call. Anyone willing to bet the farm its a failure?

Still in the end this season will decide JB’s fate one way or another. Problem is FA remains.

I was also hoping McDavid fell to 23rd overall, but when he didn't it was just another black spot on Gillis's resume.

JB probably won't be around but the Podkolzin pick will rival EP, BB & Hughes. His style of play looks to make him a Steamer type fan favorite. He talent level belongs more in the top 5 and it was the right call to take him then trade down.

You might be right, I don't mind the pick.

I'm just pointing out that I'm probably more disappointed we didn't trade down and get him anyways or possibly Newhook for an additional 2nd round pick. He only had to slide past the Flyers.

There wasn’t many ppl on the trade down train with me before it left the station. A good point you can repost in the Woulda Coulda Shoulda Happy Hour. 😂

Whatever, several of us posted it at the time including you and minivan. Time will tell if it's a good non-move or not but the draft fell perfectly for a trade down.

Pair that with trading a 1st and 3rd for a middle six winger and we're talking about missing out on nearly the entire top half of a future draft. That isn't good drafting, especially for a club that has missed the playoffs for half a decade.

Did Benning improve our club now over the past couple of weeks? Of course he did, but at what expense to the future?

No doubt getting another 2nd would be a great add to depth. Same was said of the EP draft why not trade down for him. But the risk of losing out on a star for depth is like playing Russian roulette.

i remember them being in some hot water over some sh*t they posted on social media. I scoped up what was going on, and you literally feel dumber when you read there stuff. They are incredibly stupid people.

To go with the narrative our prospect pool is deeper than it’s ever been under Bennings regime. Now mismanagement as far as trades and signings is kind of a tragedy.

Is this what the rest of the summer is going to be? Watching the Real Housewives would be less catty and dramatic

Until players hit the ice I am betting so. Just wait until BB signs. The outrage over his pay and to long of a deal to short of a deal etcetera etcetera.😂

“Ever” is a long time, the pool was pretty deep back in the mid 80’s to early 90’s (84-92). There were a lot of great kids drafted early in the draft like Linden 2nd, Daigneault 10th, Sandlak 4th, Nedved 2nd and some great 2nd round + picks like Mike Peca & Slegr as well as some guy named Bure.

That doesn’t even take into account the guys who flopped, at the time guys like Woodley 7th OA 1986 and Herter 8th OA 1989 were highly touted kids.

Sure you can look back now and judge, but like I said, at the time, the Canucks had a nice pool of kids.

Nedved ended up being the key to acquiring Jeff Brown, Bret Hedican and Nathan LaFayette. Sandlak for Murray Craven.
