pretty comprehensive response.... - wcorvette
Well, I wanted to throw in something about Giroux being awful, but that's more of a 2Real-specific response. |

here have fun with this one, hoping this can bring team negative and team postiive together for a day
Hayes can help. He has done a lot of his damage at even strength with 72 such goals, more than guys like Adam Henrique (71 — $5.825 million AAV), Evgeny Kuznetsov (70 — $7.8 million AAV) and Ryan O'Reilly (67 — $7.5 million AAV) since 2014-15. Hayes' 179 even-strength points are more than guys like Nazem Kadri (173), Tomas Hertl (172), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (172) and Anders Lee (170) over the past five seasons.
and this
The Flyers will need Hayes to do a lot. After all, they did a lot to get him because of that. - wcorvette
He will make this team better. The Flyers needed a 2C and he filled that hole. Not many options to fill that hole. Getting a 2C is not easy in this league. They were lucky to be in the running to get one. |

Yup. I don’t love the length of the deal, far from it in fact. However, right now, adding Kevin Hayes makes the Flyers a better team. This is indisputable. |

Going off the board to draft Fraud Giroux over Cory Emmerton should be right at the top. |

Cory who? - NC Flyers Fan
The #10 ranked N.A. skater in 2006. Fell to the lucky Red Wings.
Giroux was ranked 38th. |

Absolute steal! I didn’t pay as much attention to prospects back then but oh man, it felt like destiny when Clarke forgot Giroux’s name. The last time anyone forgets his name. A career no Flyers fan will forget.

Jeff Woywitka - sjk540
Woywitka actually had a decent career, just not with the Flyers. The worst is probably Ryan Sittler, but that had nothing to do with his skill, it was injuries; he never played 1 game in the NHL. Same for Glen Seabrooke, played in just 19 games before suffering a career-ender. at just 21.
If we're eliminating everything pre-Cup days, it's probably between Danny Lucas, Mike Stothers, and Steve Smith. I think Sam Morin already has the 3 of them beat. |

Sam Morin, probably, since his draft year was so deep.
Sittler never played an NHL game, I guess he's up there too. |

Bill, how is Farabee slide rule eligible in the AHL? I thought you only don’t burn a year if you’re in juniors or overseas but the AHL would start your entry level contract like how Sanheim completed his 3 years but only 2 with the Flyers.
18 and 19-year old seasons in the AHL can slide. They also don't count as pro seasons for expansion draft purposes. That is why Hagg was exempt in 2017 despite having completed three AHL seasons.

It would have been easy for us but we decided to be picky. I still believe Giroux, Couturier and Patrick are three great centers on any team in the league. |

would have to be sittler I believe.
that draft set them back as 2 1st rd bust just when they added lindros. They couldn't even have been traded for something useful. Though I believe they screwed up Bowens development by switching him back and forth to wing. Should have left him at D.
That whole 92 draft was pitiful. |

I would like to see NAK get a real shot but I just don't see it. He played 9 NHL games last year. I believe all 9 were under Hex/Hak reign. After Fletcher took over he got in no games. He couldn't break the lineup over Bailey and Knight. Maybe he'll get the 13/14th forward spot. - FlyerFan16
He was injured a couple of times after Jan 1st, and I wouldn't read too much into Bailey being used as the extra forward on the roster over Aube-Kubel considering NAK got a QO and they just let Bailey walk. |

I liked what Steve Downie has offered then Scott Laughton. It’s been a long road for Laughton. |

yeah that was way before my time, i was only 6, and though I know the name Sittler and how big of a bust was, doesn't come to mind right away. It also is a shame every time you go back and looks at those lists, you see Forsberg, and know that we drafted correctly but didn't get to enjoy his entire career, sans 100 games. |

I just looked at his stats, he had a 22 goal campaign with Tampa, I didn't know that. I guess he's just the biggest douche we've drafted in the first round |

Being an bumhole doesn’t help but he was underratedly skilled. No matter what Feanor believes. |
