From a Tampa fan, I would definitely do that first trade with them. Not the 2nd.

Ristolainen, Rasmus
2020 4th round pick (BUF)

For

Johnson, Tyler
Cirelli, Anthony
2021 2nd round pick (TBL)

- Mentalorgasm5

Of course we’d all take that deal
BUT
Would Tampa (or that poster) make the deal without the 2nd part of it where they get Mitts?

Literally 3 people on here think he can play C.

All that matters is where Botts and Ralph slot him.

- Powerslave

I didn’t backread much,
but i was seeing quite e a few “2C is set” type posts

So what do we think of Johansson taking Olofsson’s spot?

Skinner is obviously a LW

Johansson, Vesey, Olofsson...
does one switch to RW?
does Olofsson go to Rochester again?
I can’t see any of them as LW4

If you find a way to add Johanson
Vesey
Nylander
And olofsson to your top 9

Already better then last season by a mile

- homiedclown

But i was told the roster wasn’t changing on June28th...
So the above must not be true

Pretty sure Johansson played some RW.

Just find the right chemistry w the top 3 lines.

And I still don't think he's done. I see another trade happening.

Still need that 2C. Would like to hear Botts comment on MoJos primary position, at least to start the year.
- TheSabresTaco

Ya, reading around various media sites and forums, seems most believe he is a better 3W who can play up at the 3 F positions, which I ok with as he is likely better than anyone else at say 3RW.
I love the signing though.

I think you're slotting him at LW a little prematurely. Even if you don't believe he can play center, he can play RW as well.

Where he ends up will be up to Krueger as a response to the team needs

Ok... slotting him at RW makes more sense to me than Center for sure

It’s been a really busy few days
Didn’t even see we saw Johansson until dinner time last night

Any word on what’s up with Gardiner?
I thought we were one of his final 3 teams
And wasn’t that like 3 days ago or something?

Fair enough

If we end up with 3 legit scoring lines,
then the lack of scoring from Larsson-Girgs defensive line won’t hurt us much

I’m guessing Larsson will end up signing for about what Girgs did

I think the addition of Vesey helps create a checking line that can also put the puck in the net. Vesey and ERod are both sub-50% o zone start guys. Maybe Johansson slides on the other side.

The Eichel line will take their share of minutes against other teams' top lines as well

I don't think we need Larry, Gus, Sobotka, curly or Moe to play the same role as last year. I think they'll be closer to the 8-10 minutes a night that they should be

Johansson can play any of the forward spots. I wouldn’t peg him as he’s now the 2nd line center but he can easily play either wing.

He will be in Lethbridge. No way he plays the season here.
- Sabre_Tooth

They seem to be making bonehead decisions with rookies and people that aren’t ready for the NHL

Last year it was clear to everyone nylander beat out tage but I think botts wanted to make sure the pieces from the Ryan O’Reilly trade were on the team

And completely blew up in his face

Lol 👍

But if Caufield made the team he will probably score 25-30 his rookie year

The question is Who are we targeting for the second line center I’m thinking it could be RNH

NO MORE COACH’S CORNER?

TORONTO SUN: Steve Simmons reports it hasn’t been confirmed if Don Cherry will be back on Hockey Night in Canada this season. “Rogers is cutting all over the place, which included the removal of Bob McCown on radio and television and Doug MacLean doing the same.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: This isn’t a trade or free-agent rumor but it’s an interesting tidbit. Cherry and his “Coach’s Corner” segment have been a first intermission fixture on HNiC since 1982. Now 85, Cherry’s age and his sometimes controversial views make him a frequent target of media criticism and social media mockery.

Elie has ZERO bearing on Sabres roster TODAY
And he never, ever did

Focusing on him is ridiculous

Botts made some nice additions,
like we all knew he would
*those of us that weren’t wildly overreacting for no reason anyways

Are we Contenders now?
No
But it’s starting to look like a roster that could be a playoff team if the kids keeps getting better
And that’s at least a step in the right direction
Still work to be done though,
no doubt

So that doesn't mean he'll make that mistake again.

Hopefully he learned from it.

I haven't heard anything about Gardiner, but maybe Montreal signing Chiarot means that it's down to Winnipeg and us?

But doesn't he have back issues?
