He is also rumoured to be asking basically exactly what the Oil have left in cap space.
- RonPielep

4mil per for 2 seasons doesnt even remotely become a problem for the Oil as they can bury Manning, Gagner and there is a rumour that Brodziak is going LTIR

The argument is often that it’d be a poor reflection on his character.
I don’t see it that way. I don’t think he wants out. But Despite how humble he appears, he’s also not a stupid person. He knows how good he is and that any competent gm should be able to at least build a competitive team around him.
And he’s only got so many years in his career. Forget actually winning a cup. We’re not even giving him the opportunity to have a shot at it. If god forbid a trade request happens, I completely blame the organization and not him at all.

While it’s true one player won’t win a cup, having a player of Connors insane talent goes a long way towards it. The best player I’ve ever seen play the game.
And losing him would be a massive stain on the organization.

I don’t know that he will ask out if we miss a couple More times. But if you’re not at least concerned about it, I don’t think you’re paying attention

- HB77

He also has to consider where he would be going. Most good teams don't have the cap space. He would be going somewhere he would have even less chance at winning and be even further behind a cup quest. His fault or not that reputation of quitting on a team would follow, right or wrong. Oilers would have drai as top centre, loaded with top young nhl players from the trade and tons of cap space and still sell out.

I'm sorry but I really dont see these guys he picked up as locks to do anything next season. Every season it is the same thing over and over.... well if (insert player) can just put it all together and take that next step we will be looking good. None of these players histories indicate that they are on the cusp of breaking through.

Lucic - 5 - 10 goals
Kassian 10+
Gagner 5
Cave >5
Brodziak 2
Jurco 0 as he will be in the AHL
Khaira 5-10
Granlund 5-10
Nygard & Haas total unknowns
Chiasson 10-15 hopefully

This is not enough Goal scoring depth to get us anywhere close to the loffs unless Drai scores 60 McDavid 50 and Nuge with 30

Stauffer - Do you think he's (Pulju) earned the respect of the top-end players on this team?

Spector - Absolutely not or he would've been playing with them more.

Stauffer - Do you think he's picked up on that?

Spector - That I don't know

You know I would normally tune the clowns out but perhaps they are onto something

I wonder why Benson didn't get a shot with the Oilers last season? Seemed like everyone else got their shot.

I am assuming that at least 2 of the 4 will be up next year. Ready or not.

They did the right thing and kept him down....some people.....bring em up too fast and get roasted and keep em down and get roasted....can’t avoid it

Did he use the “team looks good” and “kicked some tires” arguments yesterday?
- RafiDRW

Didn’t use team looks good tho I can’t recall if he said tire kicking or not

I’ll dumb it down so you can understand, as an American I won’t use actual math, but can you keep up with: PC = KH = poope = Detroit?

The retardation of your previous comment plus your asinine statement about Americans in this really push you into that category normally reserved for flat Earthers and antivaxxers.

Kenny has had only a month. He hasn’t traded away any high end talent or made egregious moves yet. He drafted a good dman, bought out Sekera, and made some meh signings. Give him some (frank)ing time before comparing him to the worst GM in NHL history.

Holland’s weaknesses are not doing enough in the off season and signing middle six/4-6 defensemen. It’s not trading Hart winners and players like Eberle away for poop returns. Quit being a damn moron and give him the offseason before crucifying him.

-The worst record of all teams over the last decade.
-4 first overalls.
-One playoff appearance in 12 years.
-Missing the playoffs 3/4 years with the best player in the world.
-The worst group of wingers in the league 9 years after a rebuild.
-9 years after a rebuild, a bottom 10 finish, and no cap space to actually do anything about it. >which has been the case for 2 years now.
- just bought out their 4th best dman on an already weak group and we don’t actually know if they’ll do anything with the money.
-Sellouts every year for 13 years.
-Top 10 in attendance every season for a decade.
-A very real possibility of the leagues best player since Mario demanding a trade if the oilers don’t turn it around very soon cause the organization has long ago reached historic levels of futility.

But super douche here wants people to blindly shake the poms poms for home team cause he’s too stupid to know the difference between rational expectation and blind love.

Oiler fans are the best and most loyal in the league bar none.

- HB77

1000000% Oiler fans have had enough of this joke of a franchise... There has been nothing to defend to the criticism for almost a decade... And we pissed away most of our top picks in the rebuild for either nothing (Yakupov) or chump change (Larsson)... WE are left with McDavid until he demands out...
which isnt very far off...

Agreed... Chia left one (frank) of a mess... Even more disturbed that Chia was told not to trade Strome and he did anyway... My God he was dumb... But look at what Boston did after they dumped Chia- they made the best of it and got back on track couple years later...

Well they are pretty much the opposite in a lot of ways....Chia over pays big in free agency and Holland did not.....Chia did dumb trades and Holland has not (yet)

Yakupov didn’t do much outside of Edmonton either (rare case there).....Larsson was one of the factors of us making the playoffs and Hall can’t stay on the ice for longer then 60 games it seems....at least we got SOMETHING from that deal (not of equal value I don’t think anyone will argue that) but that’s Ebs deal tho? Damn that’s a bad one....might be the second worst move Chia made
