EDIT: Upon re-reading the comment, it's not devoid of understanding for the reasons why people are short with the team. However, leading with "this team's fans suck" and bookending it with "the amount of whining and complaining from oilers fans is unreal" doesn't do it any favours.

Holland said it won't be fixed on one year. He has the big picture on mind and it starts next year July 1st with some of our great propects coming next year, and the two years that follow. Holland avoided getting the team further handcuffed and signed guys short term with potential great depth scoring. 10-15 goal season from the depth makes us a potential playoff team.

If they don’t do anything this summer to address the top 6 then everything you said is justified and warranted. I just hope to jebus he’s true to his word and adds another good caliber player. Got a couple months to see what happens. If nothing then may god have mercy on Connors soul. Also agreed bone, venting can be bad.

If Connor McDavid demands a trade because this team in the next 2 to 3 seasons are unable to figure it out then I will likely stop following the Oilers all together. It's already bad enough that Nuge was noticeably upset at the year end interviews with one of his major points being just how unstable his tenure has been here between coaching changes and linemates as well.

Mcdavid won't ask out. He has never been that type going back to junior. If the oilers had to trade him then the asking is pieces that build you a cup team. One player won't win you a cup anyway. The argument is often that it’d be a poor reflection on his character.
I don’t see it that way. I don’t think he wants out. But Despite how humble he appears, he’s also not a stupid person. He knows how good he is and that any competent gm should be able to at least build a competitive team around him.
And he’s only got so many years in his career. Forget actually winning a cup. We’re not even giving him the opportunity to have a shot at it. If god forbid a trade request happens, I completely blame the organization and not him at all.

While it’s true one player won’t win a cup, having a player of Connors insane talent goes a long way towards it. The best player I’ve ever seen play the game.
And losing him would be a massive stain on the organization.

I don’t know that he will ask out if we miss a couple More times. But if you’re not at least concerned about it, I don’t think you’re paying attention

I'm sorry but I really dont see these guys he picked up as locks to do anything next season. Every season it is the same thing over and over.... well if (insert player) can just put it all together and take that next step we will be looking good. None of these players histories indicate that they are on the cusp of breaking through.
