I usually schedule a light day for TDL and FA days. Couldn't do it this morning and I return home to see Rutherford handing out a 6 year deal for a bottom 6 forward. I've been trying to stay on the JR bandwagon because I feel his work to put those cup teams together was masterful. This deal is totally deflating. I don't even hate the player, but the term is insane for a club that needs to consider EVERY aspect of a deal. Just like the JJ contract I think he totally negotiated against himself. TWO YEARS IN A ROW!

I just hope to hell that he comes to Pittsburgh and just takes off. I would love if he could become the next Dupuis, if his skating is as good as people say.

He had a so/so year and then he was in every trade proposal because he was overpaid and we needed to free up capspace to "Get a winger for Crosby...."

But he was the only real "get" that I can remember....
