I think he's a good pickup for bottom 6 and PK and also if it forces a trade of someone we can do without, it's gravy.
- MattStrat

Agree, the PK forwards weren't looking great, so adding a guy who can help there, add the grit GMJR wants, but can actually play is a better outcome then throwing a ton of cash at Ferland/Simmonds/etc.

They do seem to be able to move a forward, or just keep depth with ZAR a likely scratch.

McCann Sid Jake
Galch Geno Rust/Kahun
Simon Bjug Horn
Tanev Blueger Rust/Kahun
ZAR

I like that group, tons of versatility and ability to move up and down when injuries inevitably happen

Tanev has very good wheels to. Can definitely play a speed game. I wanna see a rust, Johnson and a 2nd for Zucker!

I read yesterday (think it was Vensel at PPG) that even though McCann had a little success on the top line, they might not want to displace Guentzel to his off-wing.

Not sure where McCann ends up then, I thought 3rd line as a finisher, maybe even try 3C again and use Bjugstad in the top 6. There are a lot of potential combos.

I watched this earlier haha. I like the speed...not saying he's anywhere near Hagelin but I think we had a need for a PKer with good speed.

And just based off a few videos, sure seems to have a terrible shot...

TONS of metro stuff this offseason. Can the penguins just.. for (frank)s sake... get rid of JJ so we still have a shot?

Honestly, in a copy cat league, I suspect other teams may follow this model in the future.....

Nope, Phil was the problem. JMFJ is part of the best defense of Rutherford’s tenure!

They did a smart rebuild by realizing even though they were a possible playoff team, they weren't Cup contenders and sold parts while they had value. Now they have a loaded farm system and just added 3 big time talents while only trading back the 1st they got for Hayes and added the top college UFA in Fox, a puck moving RHD. I can't help but respect that.
