Not a big fan of going g into another season like we have for the past two seasons.
Christ, the Sabres are getting better at selling blind, empty hope than the Bill's ever were.

Yes, it is 7/2....there remains time to make substantive trades.
So far on the player front, the team has improved marginally.
The biggest hope is tied to Ralphie-boy performing roster magic of epic porportions.
The roster surgery has been postponed.

And last year we thought there were too many of those bodies, but Botterill specializes in playing the IR game to accommodate them, so I assume all or the heavy majority will be on the 23-man roster, which is really more like 27 with Botterill

Last year from 7/2 to the end of September there were 8 trades in the league. 2 of those deals were minor league swaps. Skinner, Karlsson, Pacioretty deals, good luck Jason

The amount of female dogging in the last day is stunning, even for this group. Everyone was euphoric on friday night and then two days later we revert back to being a bunch of teenage girls. It's freaking July 2nd. Botts will make at least two more moves. In theory just one move for a 2C is really the only move that is absolutely necessary. It doesn't matter that he qualified a bunch of slugs and that Sobotka is still technically here. What matters is opening night. Gentlemen, rest your sphincters.

Honestly, I wouldn't hate it. He's great in October when he's fresh. He can realistically play with Eichel still for a month, which frees up Samson to hold down 2RW

After that, he and Okposo can alternate press box tours

There are MUCH worse things he could do than re-sign Pommer, namely, doing nothing

Vanek only plays LW. Even if Sheary switches to RW, there's still Skinner, Vesey and VO on the left

You don't want Vanek on the 4th line, but Pominville can fill that role. He's more defensively responsible. Plus the RWs still suck, even with Sheary
