Jeremy White destroy this team with his trade ideas.

Risto, Mitts, 1st

for

Huberdeau.

- ImThatGuy

He thinks Huberdeau is a center. Isn't he more of a LW?

Yes. He is a winger now.

Was drafted as a center. Plays strictly wing.

So the number of trades are trending up, which makes sense, in a world where league executives are finally starting to realize that the good teams treat cap space like currency. There will absolutely be more than that this year.
- buffalofan19

Maybe. The added volume wasn't necessarily anything of interest. 6 of the moves came in October and were largely of the "Baptiste for Dougherty" variety.

We'll see. I'm sure we'll see 1 move. I thought he'd be more aggressive with the surgery to this point

Precisely. This org takes Rochester very seriously, and they signed some very high quality AHL talent that supplements the strong base they have there now. The guys they let go of have been replaced with better players.
- TheSabresTaco

Maybe the Sabres should replace some of their TV broadcast with those of the Amerks.

It's easy to use the cap space asset after FA ends and suddenly teams are looking to free up some space or swap assets based on new additions.

Not a fan of Duffer and Marty?

I think they do fine. Duffer is solid. Marty is.. Marty.

I expected, and somewhat hoped for, the opposite.

Perhaps no trade on Draft day was a little disappointing, but July 1 tends to make more teams worse than better.

My concern is they still have to sign the QO RFS.

They have 12 in cap space currently.

McCabe is 3.5
Girgs and Larry are each 2-3.

They have about 3 left, if they sign them all.

The roster surgery is, um more of a band-aid at this point.

A lot of work to do. A lot.

He was talking to Ryan Stimpson about that trade yesterday morning. It was so absurd. They both agreed the sabres should do it, and they both agreed the Panthers would be crazy to accept.

And then Sal C. was on talking about how the Hurricanes are a poor team and are unlikely to match the offer sheet. I assume he was talking about Karimanos, who of course doesn't own the team anymore

Their FA coverage missed Howard Simon and BD badly

Nope he def didn’t. He said point at first but it wouldn’t be enough.

Then he turned his sights to Huberdeau.

You're forgetting, though, that any potential trades would move salary out as well.

They also have 9 defensemen with Pilut knocking on the door and a pair of worthless forwards taking up space. Plenty of time.

So much garbage is off the roster next year- Sobotka, Scandella, Hunwick, Bogosian, Wilson- If you want throw in Sheary/Vesey
That's $21.2 million

Because it’s a problem when he’s your 4th best scorer.
- dadeadhead

I agree, it's a problem that pommer is our 4th best goal scorer.

But, it's not his problem. 1 year 2.125.

Book it.
