I would sign free agents to 2 or 3 year max contracts at reasonable cap hits. Why are we repeating mistakes over and over again. Also, why do they have to be multi year contracts in order to sign them?

Who's to say myers won't be good at 35, some dmen have there best years in there 30s, he has size good on the pp both we need and benn adds grit and smarts defensivley, I like the adds if its true.

So you'd just sign Benn and call it a day if you were a GM with 1 year left on his contract?

So with only Woo as RHD & Tanev getting older that makes a rebuild go another 5yrs minimum. Doing nothing is ok if the UFA market is crazy or has nothing. Banking on Barrie is risky but could pay big dividends if only we signed him. After that it is watching the years pass by without enough RHD prospect depth & lucking out on drafting them then waiting on them. The years add up fast & current talent gets wasted.

Hes done this his entire tenure. I dont think this being his final year has made any difference to his approach. Hes dealt picks and signed aging UFAs to bigger contracts almost every year.

I believe it’s the creative side of the brain that makes them do this. Other sports dictates what is more natural & they favour their strong side out of the gate.

Hes declined every year that hes been in the league and peaked in his rookie season with buffalo, so history had told us his projection and trajectory but whatever, hes 6 foot 8 or something right

Only health stops older players. D can generally play longer than F’s if the game doesn’t pass them by. Smarts can lengthen a D mans career & not so transferable to F’s.

Lol hes been trading away draft picks for reclamation projects his entire tenure too, it's a vicious circle man. Again, my problem isnt with myers, hes fine, it's the contract and benning that I have a problem with. Is our D better with myers and benn over gudbranson and hutton? Yes 100%.

Vancouver came off a season where they were the 2nd lowest scoring team in the league.
So everyone said we cannot come back with the same offense
so they sign eriksson

UFA long term deals to players who are 30 is not the answer.
