So if the Leafs tell him we are burying you because we can’t have you at 4.3 million he says (frank) it?

I’m going to assume you are not much of an investor are you...

- Santo_44

Leafs gonna burry 4.3 mil in he minors?

Player makes 4.3mil if he signs. He makes less than that in your scenario. More is better than less.

Very early.

So early that we are talking about a deal that’s not even official because the off-season hasn’t officially started yet.

- Santo_44

We're still in last year if I'm not mistaken. Next year starts tomorrow?

I just hope for once in my lifetime the Leafs actually take the idea of defense seriously.

oh
- .HOHO.

To be honest I don't want Rosen or Liljegren on the big club either.

So really only Rielly and Muzzin

Yes. They can bury Ceci and play Rosen and save 200K from it.

If he has to take less to play in the NHL he does it.

This is a big contract year for him.

- Santo_44

Does the taking less come with a guarantee that he plays in the nhl next year for sure? Be awfully dumb on his part to accept less to help the leafs out and then still end up in the minors.

He'd take the money.

Yup that’s when players get bonuses for the next season.

And I’m with you. I think they do I highly doubt they are trading Z without a plan.

Dubas said he’s not trading Z without knowing he’s getting a decent RHD back. Unless he thinks Ceci is that RHD but I highly doubt that.

He’s desperate man. If he plays in the AHL next year he’s getting league minimum on his next contract.

He needs to play in the NHL this year and if there is no UFA interest at a decent price then he can absolutely work out a deal to play in the NHL.

It’s ironic how you are saying the Leafs are saving money because Ceci is going to walk but also say he isn’t going to turn down the highest offer her has..........

But they would still have a cap hit of about $3.3 million with Ceci playing in the minors.

Provided he clears waivers - and Ceci and his agent would believe he won't clear waivers.

What? His highest offer right now is qualifying offer, I'm not saying he's turning that down, you are.

As I said, what if he accepts less to help leafs and then still gets stuck in the minors? How does that make sense? You're saying he's going to take less to play in the nhl but him playing In the nhl is no gaurantee.

I saw the Rolling Stones last night. A bunch of septegenarians came out on on stage and melted everyone's faces off. It was unbelievable. They have some kind of rock 'n' roll immortality pact with the devil man.

It's actually very rare for a player to accept a QO at this point.

do players pay into the escrow if they are in the minors?

Might be more cash for him in his pockets.

If the leafs say we need you at a number to play in the NHL and has 1-2 million offers from other teams as a UFA then yes.

Players want to play in the NHL and in this case he needs to to get another contract.

It’s also very rare for a player of Ceci’s caliber to have a high QO that he has.

If the Leafs walk from Ceci and move Brown you'll looking at 17 million in cap.

Sorry, aren't the Leafs in "Cap Hell"?

- RogerRoeper

If.
And they had to unload players do it.
So ya they were.

Jesus.

I think only if you play in the nhl, so if you've played in both leagues that particular year your escrow is the % of time you're nhl.
