No I don't think that had much impact. Either they are working on a better D-man or they have to move Zaitsev before they can bring in a D-man. The bonus due to Zaitsev on July 1, might be all they are waiting for to announce a deal. Once the Leafs pay that, his value goes up.

No he's good, but Vegas had to move payroll, they have a sh!tload of young d-men ready to move up to the big squad and their payroll it tight against the cap (more than any team)

Misused more than anything. Babcock tried to turn him into Gardiner’s defensive safety cushion, which would be a lot to ask of anyone. He looked a lot better when he was paired with Muzzin in the playoffs.

He’s a Jake Gardiner but half the skill.

He’d be beaten to a pulp by fans by shift number 2.
