Unlike Marner, Matthews deserves it. Matthews would score 60 goals and have over 110 points if he played with a winger as good as Tavares. Instead he gets Marleau and Ennis.

actually didn't Matthews have Nylander for the most minutes after Nylander's return....

its understandable that no one may have noticed this... because Nylander wasn't particularly noticeable...

I think you're being a little unfair to the Islanders. They have a great coach. Lehner has always been good, but a little mentally unstable. It seems that Trotz got that team to buy-in and with that came more stability out of Lehner.

If they lose Lee that will hurt, obviously, but I think they still have a decent core. They are not a top 5 team on average, I don't think, but they're not that bad.
Maybe you're right and Lehner falls apart, and that would undo them - afterall it was basically their team-D and goaltending that improved them so much. But I think Trotz is a guy players play for.
