Turned 20: Dec 2017
Signed Contract: April 2017.
McAvoy was not "Player aged 20 or older, (or who but did turn 20 between September 16 and December 31 of the year in which he signs his first SPC, so he earned a year of professional experience by playing ten (4 ahl and 6 nhl playoff games) or more Professional Games under an SPC in a given League Year. " - Tumbleweed So you're trying to say him turning 20 in a completely different season affects his professional experience from the year before? That makes no sense.
The facts are that I've produced an article from the most highly regarded hockey site, saying he is ineligible. I've laid out that in the season a player signs, if he is 18-19 he needs to play 10 NHL games (which he did not), and that him turning 20 the next season has no bearing on his previous season's professional experience.
this could not be any clearer, yet you seem to be leaving it out every time:
"For the purposes of this Section 10.2(a), a Player aged 18 or 19 earns a
year of professional experience by playing ten (10) or more NHL Games
in a given NHL Season"
How old was he when he signed AND played in 2016-2017? Him turning 20 in 2017-2018 has nothing to do with that season. If he didn't play in 2016-2017, then the next season played 10 professional games, AHL or NHL, you'd be right. Then again, would he be an RFA? No. |

Landsberg is just doing his job. However, I appreciate that Hayes on Overdrive openly admits he loves the chaos and wants it because then he has content.
I figure Carlo is trying to suggest he "earned" his right because it's in the CBA for RFAs
I said it before and noone believed me but when the negotiations for the next CBA comes up I guarantee this RFA stuff will be addressed. Limit dollars...length...something. the older players who are 27 and 28 are going to be squeezed and they wont like it. Think Kap or Johnsson are worth 4? They probably are but cant get it. - Aaron_85
I think theyll add arbitration hearings after the elc. |

I don't have a dog in this fight, but you've produced one article from Fluto Shinzawa, whereas I've shown you articles from Sportsnet and the NHL. |

I've also clearly referenced the CBA.
How else can this be interpreted? "For the purposes of this Section 10.2(a), a Player aged 18 or 19 earns a
year of professional experience by playing ten (10) or more NHL Games
in a given NHL Season"
And how can someone's age in a future season dictate their previous year's professional experience? You agree that makes zero sense, no? |

Having a quick read, it doesn't look like he has accumulated 3 years, so I'm going to side with Fluto here. |

This whole thing has been a smokescreen the whole time:
You've been so busy worrying about McAvoy - and we quietly snuck Carlo across the border and gave him a free tour of the CN Tower and lunch at RealSports.
Dubas wins....again. |

Mike Augello: Is “Priority 1” preventing Leafs from pursuing upgrades?? - mikeinbuffalo
trade all of these greedy, pencil neck creampuffs to the same team for some real dmen who don’t want to milk injuries and play house for half the season and some heavier forwards
then these “highly skilled” pantywaists can jack each other off in the change room while they win the presidents trophy
then we crush them into the glass and snap there pencil necks on our way to the cup
MAYBE keep glassthews
what a (frank)ing joke
edit: nice alliteration |

He parlayed his job as a stickboy for his grandfather's junior team into being named GM of the Leafs, before the age where he needed to shave.
If that ain't winning, I don't know what is. |

Umm, that article says absolutely nothing about offer sheets, when referencing McAvoy. It simply states that all of those players are coming out of their ELC, which he is. so...
Unless you’re a hockey fan living under a rock, you know that Sebastian Aho, Brayden Point, Patrik Laine, Mikko Rantanen, Mitch Marner, Matthew Tkachuk, Kyle Connor, Timo Meier, Brock Boeser, Zach Werenski, Ivan Provorov and Charlie McAvoy are all coming out of their entry-level contracts this summer. - RickJames77
very smart move by Boston Management on the way they handled McAvoy. Other teams should take note. Instead of lowballing him now when they can, they will offer him a nice team friendly long-term deal and he will happily accept.

pure luck.
they never would have guessed he would end up a potential future norris winner at the time they let him play a few playoff games a few seasons ago. |

I think you'll start to see it more and more with high end kids coming out of the NCAA once their college season is over.

We kind of had to play him also. That was the year the Bruins lost to Ottawa and 5 of our defensemen were hurt. If we somehow got past that round, we wouldn't even be having this conversation because he would've eclipsed 10 games.
It happened with Cale Makar this year. He just hit 10. |

5 year ELC seems to be being talked up...current structure is eliminating the middle class. |
