I don't see how we need depth. The problem is we have enough "depth" (3rd and 4th liners) and not enough top 6. Nobody should get their panties in a jumble about these moves.

Stanton was diagnosed with a PCL sprain in his right knee on Wednesday, and he went from day-to-day to the current prognosis that has him not able to return until after the trade deadline. We had 2 1sts this year, so if you gave up 4 for point, he's the equivalent of getting something for 1 of those firsts. So it's like having 3 firsts in 5 years. Idk if any of that math makes sense

If the Sabres win, and don't have a first round pick for 8 years (like Pittsburgh), I wouldn't lose sleep. Give me two potential 80-100 point centers in Eichel and Point.

That gets you between 10.5 - 11.5M AAV which I think is the minimum for the top tier offer sheet.
