It’s not even July1st yet

The only thing I am nervous about with MJ is if he is a product of players around him or if he is good enough to elevate others.

The first 6 years was in Washington where we know their top 6 was stacked. Then he went to NJ and was pretty below average to be honest. Only played 87 games in last 2 years so it was pretty injury riddled.

Then goes to Boston as their 3LW and played very well again.

They don't have contracts, its nitpicking but you're not arguing with the right tools.

If they swap out Wilson for a 6th and Girgs for a 5th would you feel better? Probably not but those things are still organizational assets you wouldn't have if you let those players walk.

Plus with how fans are here - Girgensons will go to Florida next year, play 3C, they'll find a hot goalie, and win a cup so everyone on this board can talk about how bad Botts is for letting Girgensons walk "for nothing"

Wilson will be the 13th forward at best

Your idea of playing Sheary-Sobatka-Okposo on line 4 is terrible with our current setup
If they played the defensive roles that Larsson & Girgs were actually good at last year,
they’d get creamed & we’d let up A LOT more goals

So since they can’t do it...
And we have no 2way centers or even good 2way wingers in the Top9...
That’s why u have Larsson & Girgs back
Bc we need someone that can play decent defensively (even if they can’t score)

Provorov had a rough year. I don't think it's indicative of his overall development though. I think he could be bought low (in relative terms) at this time.
