Clarkson is a UFA next year.

You can go over the cap by 10% in the off-season but....

You have to be cap compliant once the season starts. Can’t LTIR until the season starts so Clarkson counts for a day. They have to move him with a piece to get cap compliant.

We are not going to land a big name FA unless we massively overpay, and watch it be Duchene for 7 years at 10.5 million.

Realistically, we are going to have to make a couple of trades. But we have only a couple of real trade chips. Ristolainen, Reinhart, and maybe McCabe. And Reinhart is almost certainly not going anywhere, and he shouldn't.

So who knows.
