Like most people here I am not wanting a long term deal. I am though curious to see what a guy like Myers does playing with Quinn Hughes. Myers does have a good shot and Hughes would be doing all the heavy lifting setting him up.

We haven't had a good shot back on the point since Salo.If Myers is going to put up 15
goals 45 points then I am not going to female dog. I know it could go South but we will find out when we get there because all indications is he will be a Canuck on Monday.

Really Really Really want Barrie over Myers...I say we wait.
- LordHumungous

Except jb moved the 2020 pick so they'd have to retool that trade if it were to happen. No way he moves 2 consecutive 1sts. So the deal is either dead or would be completely different to happen

I’m not disputing what insiders are reporting, but I would imagine that each stop on his tour is similar, in that he (Myers) shows a lot of interest in playing in that city, says thank you and then heads to his next stop.

You can, however argue how it's happening.

Sure why not. Would quicken the D rebuild.

So if tree returns in a year we'd have 2 6'8 D! That covers a lot of ice makes us difficult to play against

It might cover a lot of ice if they are lying on it, but Hughes at 5'11" covers more ice than 14' of Myers/Tryamkin combined.

No idea, honestly, I really could care less. I hope he signs elsewhere, I'm prepared for him to be signing in Vancouver for the next 7 years (getting bought out in 4, maybe 5). It is what it is, nothing I can do about it.

You know for a fact that no matter what there will be half that hate what is going on. I could not believe how many people were screaming about losing Hutton yesterday.

What a joke.

No poop eh? When everyone was screaming to let him walk....then they do and.....female dogmania!

They have been trying to trade him for about 18 months apparently and no takers...so there you go....

People are so use to the puck being in the Canucks end and wonder HTF does Myesrs stop goals from being scored against us? I think JB is trying to build a team that now plays in the other end. ? That is my guess.

I think it’s because they feel he had trade value and now your getting nothing

Kind of a reoccurring theme with JB

Our first round pick is in play for the next two years so Benning can’t present an offer-sheet to anyone, unless it’s for a middling player, which wouldn’t require a first round pick and he’s already amassed enough of them already.

As I just said, in the post you quoted, I'm prepared. I don't like it, but expect it to happen. Jim "all in" Benning is going to town.

I must have skipped over all that. When I heard Irf say the Canucks were working hard to trade Hutton before the deadline yesterday I almost peed myself laughing.

so, the answer is being in a perpetual cycle of trading players when they have value so you dont lose them for nothing?

How would you ever win a cup that way? Guess we should trade Pettersson now while he still has value....

I believe the only players the Canucks aren't eligible to sign are the $4-$8m players

According to CapFriendly, the Canucks do not meet the requirements to sign any offer sheet in the $4,227,438-$8,454,871 range.
