Subban will be a free agent July 1 . Anyone want him back?
Not sure if his feelings are included in the deal.

Chris Higgins was on with the coaches and prospects today for the Canucks .

That’s a surprise, given how Benning shafted him after a training camp injury.

Maybe he is thankful that he did the shafting this time instead of well you know.

You guys see fornoffer sheets the compensation gets divided by 5 years tops?

7 year 70 million contract is actually a 14 mill per year offer in rfa world therefore putting the offer in the highest bracket. Interesting hey

https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/jets

Jets have 24m cap space & need 7 signed.
Hoping Myers 6-7m leaving 17-18m

Laine 8-9m, Connor 8m leaves 2m max to none for 4 players.

An OS to either for 5/8.4m costs a 1/2/3rd.
Is that worth it?
Perrault & a sweetener instead?
Lowry for Schaller 50% retained 2m cap gain for the Jets

Canucks were going to trade down if Podkolzin wasn't there. Meaning they would have traded down with Zegras was still there. Canucks rankings and yours all almost completely backwards
- manvanfan

I really dont think this is accurate. JB talked about the Det pick almost guaranteeing one of a couple of their guys would be there at 10 and decided not to do the trade down. We know Pod was one. I'm assuming the other was Zegras.

I think everyone knew Broberg was going 8th further securing JB one of their guys.

AAV is 70m divided by 5yrs = 14m for compensation range.
May as well go an OS of 5yr 8.4m or less

I think this is the article that Minivan is referencing.

I don't see how the jump to passing on Zegras is made there at all. He is talking about having Podz higher than the other guys they like that were available. They were pretty big on Zegras. Realistically, I'm sure never thought he'd make 9 even.

There was 8 other players picked before Zegras. Minivan's assumption would apply to all of them if we are to make that jump from what JB said in that interview.

Thank you Yzerman.

Probably to talk with players about the opportunity the Canucks give to perennial 3rd liners, getting to play as 2nd liners, in this organization.

i think based off of what we have seen, they were insanely high on Zegras. They interviewed him many times, and if he would have been available, I think they would have chosen him over Podkolzin.
