Ya ya. I'm just saying guys that think trading Kadri will 'shore up the d'. No. Not even close. This d is going to need a big big move to be competitive. - aminnes
I don't think this is entirely true.
I think they need the right D to play with these forwards. It doesn't have to be elite like NSH/CAR. |

I do.
They are offering him a chance to be my mostest favourite Leaf ever.
And if he turns that down, he is dead to me. - Atomic Wedgie
I’m sure he’d be devastated. |

You should point out that Marner is one of about 7 billion RFA's ....there's nuttin' abnormal about this process.
If he starts meeting with other teams tomorrow ....hmmm, that's maybe a new twist. - The Law
I honestly hope he does.
It might give him a bit of a dose of reality. |

I agree its a good thing.
But I think also having better line mates for Matthews is a great thing.
I think the Leafs would benefit more having a guy like Zucker on Matthews line...a two way speed demon...Matthews is average defensively at this point. He backcheks well but he is meh in his own end.
I think having a legit 3C who puts up 40-45 points a year playing PK mins + Zucker is better than having Kadri. That is my opinion anyways. - Santo_44
Didn’t st Louise just win Stanley cup on strength of 3 strong lines?

Agreed.
And he's not the only superstar RFA not signed yet. - Fakepartofme
I think it's hilarious how no other player is even being mentioned in offer sheet talk. Not one. Point wouldn't entertain an offer sheet? Only Mitch. Fans are nuts to be going so hard after the kid. Mind blowing really. |

I never said it was. Not pointing fingers.
I merely pointed out that your below statement wasnt completely true.
"Didn't extend Marner, because Marner's agent wanted to play out the year first. Not Dubas' fault." - Fakepartofme
But you were pointing a finger(perhaps, even the middle one) at Dubas.. When you said;
Actually it was dubas that said last summer that he was in no rush to sign either of the 3 stars
Implying that Dubas didn't even try. |

Nylander has moved to C mid season and it has worked out well.
For me it would be a no brainier IF they can trade for a decent 3C. If not? Yeah maybe I keep Kadri for the time being.
Which who knows...maybe thats what Dorian and Dubas were talking about at the draft. He did say they were talking about a move that could happen in the future. - Santo_44
"worked out well"?
Ok.
We'll see. Lots could happen or not. Kadri pissed me off as well, being stupid AGAIN, but he might not be that easy to replace.
time will tell. |

Disagree. I think patching holes isn;t going to do it. They need a stud. A leader back there. IMO. |

I sure hope they get tougher this off season. Florida will be better. Montreal will be better. TB and Boston are what they are. Leafs could drop to 5th. - aminnes
I don’t think MTL will be better.. Buffalo might, tho. Boston will fall off I think. Leafs should finish second in the division. NJ I think will be very good. |

But he doesn't stand up for his teammates.
Does he drop the gloves?
No.
He pulls chicken-poop moves that get him ejected from the game/series.
If you want to go old school here, let's go old school.
Kadri doesn't do that. - Atomic Wedgie
Too far! He pulled Big Joe Thornton's beard out ...that was great. He went at it with Backes a couple of times ...ballsy. He's had a few really good middle-weight battles over the years. |

Bozak is a 3C.
They won with the traditional 1c,2c,3c. |

They do need 2 RHD, but neither of them have to be perennial all-stars.. |

That's Rielly.
The RHD is going to be a complementary piece to him. |

No. I was typing with fingers and I simply repeated what he said at the beginning of summer. I didnt say he didnt try the rest of the summer or wouldnt do anything. The point was Marners camp said they were willing to talk.
I have no axe to grind with Dubas....I like him...smart guy, speaks well. Had a good message at the Pride parade. |

Yup almost a PPG and positive scoring metrics.
We all call the Leafs a juggernaut offence but one thing is for sure is the Matthews line has struggled the last two playoff runs. They couldn't get out of their zone...I think giving him better line mates while staying a deep team is important. Maybe as important as getting another D. |

Nah, center depth and good defense didn't do it.
It was one 2nd line LW.

Montreal has a lot of good young talent. One or two nice pick ups in FA should get them in the playoffs, as they played pretty well as the year went on. If Florida signs Babrovsky, look out. They are a good team, just haven't had consistent tending. If they manage to get Planarian also. Yikes. If the Leafs find a way to ice a middle of the road NHL defence then I think they can finish second. But if they roll in with what it looks like they will, they are in big trouble. |

Yup.
They need a 5 D to replace C and a top 4 D that can play with Rielly. |

Says the guy that said they should of gotten rid of Gradiner because he was going to walk but upgrade the D at the deadline..... - Santo_44
brother, jake gardiner should have been gone long ago, out of necessity he lasted until 2019. i'm not sure what you think jake gardiner really is, but apparently you are overrating him big time. |
