I'm sick of Kadri.

How many times do you let a guy torpedo your playoff chances?

Isn't two enough?

- Atomic Wedgie

It is ..I agree. I just really like the way he stands up for the team on the ice. My position is more emotional then rational though.

If it's a good trade I'll have forgotten 3 weeks later.

Not saying you're wrong, but in the event you're right... Trading him fresh off of it doesn't exactly scream max return on asset. He'd be a much more valuable trade chip through the season.
- joel878

guys with term always get max value in the offseason.

Point still remains, they were open to discuss.

I’ll give you a chance to see how stupid this comment is.

Leaf fans in a nut shell.

- Santo_44

jake gardiner, decent offensive defenseman, that is all. he doesn't make or break this team. if other teams valued him highly then dubas knowing he wasn't going to re-sign gardiner in a year's time should have moved him instead of him being here to do what jake gardiner does every time he plays boston in the playoffs.

A 4.5 million dollar defensemen probably isn't near enough to improve the d.

If Matthews gets injured than Nylander moves to C.

I can see why some wouldn't want him to be the "full time 3c" but there is no reason he can't be the backup number 2C.

It's why Babs likes his wingers to be able to play C.

- Santo_44

Meh, not the best idea but could work short term.
Better option is having 3rd c that can move up so you dont screw with the wingers

You didn't address Nathan Horton's contract and how it relates to Dumbass.
- RickJames77

he should have tried to get rid of that contract at some point before the storm came, he should have known he was going to need cap space.

Sounds like your saying he is an important guy that needs to be in the lineup. And I stand by this. He was stupid, no doubt, but when your trying to compete with Boston and your team is a bunch of pussies it's far easier to get frustrated like that.
- aminnes

Exactly.

All the Nylanderps want to do if come up with reasons to trade Kadri. They hate him for standing up for his teammates, but their boy held out, sucked when he came back, non existent in the playoffs, but that’s okay.

Ask yourself, which team would take on a contract that is not insured by the league?

You should point out that Marner is one of about 7 billion RFA's ....there's nuttin' abnormal about this process.

If he starts meeting with other teams tomorrow ....hmmm, that's maybe a new twist.

Ya ya. I'm just saying guys that think trading Kadri will 'shore up the d'. No. Not even close. This d is going to need a big big move to be competitive.

Nylander has moved to C mid season and it has worked out well.

For me it would be a no brainier IF they can trade for a decent 3C. If not? Yeah maybe I keep Kadri for the time being.

Which who knows...maybe thats what Dorian and Dubas were talking about at the draft. He did say they were talking about a move that could happen in the future.

But he doesn't stand up for his teammates.

Does he drop the gloves?

No.

He pulls chicken-poop moves that get him ejected from the game/series.

If you want to go old school here, let's go old school.

Kadri doesn't do that.

How is that Dubas' fault?
- PatC80

I never said it was. Not pointing fingers.
I merely pointed out that your below statement wasnt completely true.

"Didn't extend Marner, because Marner's agent wanted to play out the year first. Not Dubas' fault."

Why the frank are you making excuses for him?

Twice he's done stupid, selfish crap that has contributed to knocking us out of the playoffs.

What, if we had Ryan Holweg on the team, Kadri doesn't do that?

Gimme a break. Teams know he is an idiot, and can be goaded into doing something colossally stupid.

- Atomic Wedgie

I was watching game 2 with my brother in law, who isn't into hockey much, and said to him during the first period to watch out for 43. That the guy is a hot head who does stupid poop and was suspended in our series last year. Then we all know what happened. Say what you want about the circumstances or whatever, but it's well known the guy loses his cool at times when he should do anything but that. I think the Leafs beat the Bruins in the first round with Kadri.

Yeah.

Marleau's 4 M salary costed a 1st.

I wonder what Hortons uninsured multiple year 5.5 M contract would of costed to get rid of.

I do.

They are offering him a chance to be my mostest favourite Leaf ever.

And if he turns that down, he is dead to me.

I sure hope they get tougher this off season. Florida will be better. Montreal will be better. TB and Boston are what they are. Leafs could drop to 5th.

So you don't like that Dubas got rid of Marleau for a 1st round draft pick, but you think it would be easy to get rid of a dead contract that isn't insured?

OK, Chief.
