And why didn't Dumbass trade Marleau for NJ's 1st round draft pick this year?
He waited too long, and it cost the Leafs. - Atomic Wedgie

Is it because we don't have Michael Ryder, Jaroslav Halak and a 2nd rd pick? |

I don't know, that seems like a lot... In NHL '19, Marleau has a player rating of 82. We for sure would be able to get Max Domi, who also has an 82 rating. |

look at the mess mr. kylie dumbass has created.
-first off, he should have traded gardiner before last season ever started, now he's walking for nothing.
-if gardiner is not here all season, zaitsev's role on the defense increases and he probably doesn't ask to be traded now.
-he let nylander take half a season off before basically giving him what he wanted.
-he didn't load up particularly on defense for a run at the cup at the deadline.
-signed tavares for 11 million because ownership wanted him then gave matthews 11.6 million.
-didn't extend marner before the season started now he's gonna have to cave to marner to keep him, how can you trade marner right now?
-lack of due diligence for almost a full year has now cost the team a first round pick and patrick marleau to get rid of marleau's contract to pay everyone else.
-the nathan horton 5.3 million dollar contract is still a thing that toronto owns.
now after having created all this mess the only right move to make right now is to trade nylander for as much defenseman as you can get for him and it better be a very good one, then sign marner, kapanen and johnsson.
why trade nylander over marner? because nylander actually stayed home for almost a third of the season doubling down on getting the contract he wanted over his teammates on an up and coming team. AND because of the three matthews, marner and nylander his game is the one that is taking the longest to develop into a consistent elite scoring forward and he has benefited from playing alongside matthews almost the entire time matthews has been a leaf.
the other option is to move kadri with zaitsev, but then what do you replace kadri with? - SP da GHOST
These are the reasons you dont like Dubas?
That's cool, just that they're all wrong.

Where do I even start?
Trade Jake Gardiner before the season started? Really? Who would we have at that time that could replace Gardiner?
If we did trade Gardiner earlier as you suggested, how would Zaitsev's role change? We would be playing him with a more inexperienced defenseman and Zaitsev will still be a more defensive role, but would have more pressure on his shoulders.
Dubas didn't cave to Nylander, and it wasn't Dubas' idea to force Nylander to hold out. We got Nylander for a cap hit less then $7M. That's a win for the Leafs.
Didn't extend Marner, because Marner's agent wanted to play out the year first. Not Dubas' fault.
Dubas did bring in Muzzin to help for the playoff run, right?
The Marleau trade was a good move. The 1st rd pick is lottery protected.. We didn't have to include a prospect or roster player.. Also, Dubas fixed a mistake by Lou Lamoriello.
Some of the moves he's made can be questioned but he hasn't created some big mess.
Did I miss anything? - PatC80 You didn't address Nathan Horton's contract and how it relates to Dumbass.

Apparently Dubas has interest in Zucker.
I wouldn’t mind a Kadri for Zucker trade.
Or a more advanced scale...Nylander and Z for Zucker and Spurgeon. |

I know these aren’t perfect, but it’s an idea as to who would make what team. We really need an major tournament to get excited about.

Also do 21 year olds get worse? Or do they get better? I’m confused now when Leaf fans think a prime is. |

Actually it was dubas that said last summer that he was in no rush to sign either of the 3 stars and marners agent had said he would talk contract up until the season started and not at all during the season.

How? It's been reported that Dubas made contract offers to Marner last off-season, and Ferris kept saying that the Leafs are lowballing Mitch. |

Its pretty shocking and Zucker and his GF have been displeased with it publicly.
I mean sports is all down to opinions and I guess some GMs are going to value other players more than others. |
