Alex is a Hall of Famer skill wise...no doubt...and he played some of his best years in Russia...

He came to Buffalo as a 20 y/o and played 16 years in the NHL, but yeah I guess his best years were as a 17-19 y/o playing for Moscow. Must have missed his 76 goals in 77 games in '92-'93.

It's not as bad as what happened to Vinny Lecavalier. Not playing for the Habs is hurting him from being in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

I have to be honest, I don't see how not playing for the Habs is a contributing factor compared to screwing over your team.

I've always had a lot of respect for players who stick with one team their entire careers.

Vinny deserves it, His stats are awesome, he won his team a cup and is a huge ambassador for the game.

Mogilny/Fedorov/Bure. What a line that was in the WJC.

I'd add Lecavalier for sure and probably Elias. They don't have to be first ballot guys, but I do think they both deserve it eventually.

Carbonneau and the Russian guy (not zubov, the other one) over guys like fleury, alfredsson, roenick, Elias, etc is embarrassing.

I always loved Guy Carbonneau as a player, but I honestly never thought of him as a hall of famer.

Michael Augello, quit your crying about teams "being robbed blind" due to trades balancing out their salary cap woes. Proper management of the Cap is critical to any team's success AND YOU KNOW THAT!!!! Your rant must be because you are pissed that your Leafs took it in the shorts in the trade with the Hurricanes. DEAL WITH IT! No sympathy at all....

I guess it’s now the hockey hall of defensive 3rd line centres. The guy scored 600 pts in 1300 games playing mostly in the high scoring 80s

"Vincent LeCavalier...
He won a Cup with Tampa, was dominant for the Lightning and a force for team Canada...but he didn't want to play in Montreal...and that surely and unfairly hurt him."

because he did not want to play for the habs, he may not be a hall of famer

that's gold

Surprised JR was left out, but happy for Guy , I guess the HOF sees him as Gainey's natural successor

No issue with any of that but the NHL needs to figure a way to decrease the gap between the post-tax dollars players receive in various cities and the resulting salary cap implications.

If the salary cap was created to level the playing field, Team A having to pay a player 15% more to match the offer made by Team B on an after-tax basis should be a problem as well.

Not sure how you put Elias and Lecavalier in before Roenick in Fleury?

Pierre Turgeon and its not even close.

One of only 33 players all time to score better than a point/game and play more than 1000 games

Guy Carbonneau? Are you f-ing kidding me??? I don't care how strong he was defensively, the guy NEVER scored 60 points in a single season.

And let's not forget Sergei "I Tried to Stab My Wife" Zubov. Apparently felony domestic assault is enough to ban a man from playing in the NHL (Slava Voynov), but not keep him out of the HHOF.

Wonder how the only deserving inductee, Hayley Wickenheiser, will feel standing up there on the podium next to a man charged with assaulting his wife with a deadly weapon?

Bias aside, I’d put alfredsson in ahead of all 4 of them.....equal or better NHLer, and more success internationally
