I really just have no interest in Paul Byron. I know who he is and what he's done, but if he's one of the key pieces to moving Ghost, sorry, pass.
- jmatchett383

Would you take Byron for Hagg? Is it that Ghost is too much to give up or just no interest in Byron.

Absolutely a role player. 3rd line wing. Another small piece.

Yes, but he'll have to pay his own way. It's the same reason Farabee/O'Brien weren't there last year.
- jmatchett383

pretty sure they were there last year. maybe you are thinking about the Sept rookie camp which they cannot attend

he's in the same draft class as some of the other kids there. I asked the question yesterday but thinking about it, wasn't he hurt at the end of last season or am i thinking about someone else?
- nastyflyergirl

Both Tanner and Wade were in attendance but both didn’t participate in physical activities with injuries

Byron and a first round pick for Ghost, does that get it done?

Not that I necessarily want to see Ghost traded just throwing ideas out there to see what people think it would take.

- opeth_pa

I don't any reason how that would get it done.

We are aware that Justin Braun is coming off less then impressive season, right? At the moment playing Braun over any young players including Hagg or Morin would be a mistake.

The trade proposals mentioned here on HB continue to astound me. We have a defenseman with elite offensive skills who already has a 60 point season under his belt. Although he did struggle last year and had a down season. So let's trade him for a decent 30 year old 3rd line winger and a 1st round pick who may not play for the team for 2-3 years. That's not even considering Byron's contract.

With the passing Fletcher deals, I now believe anything could happen. After trading a second and third round pick for a 32 year old, 2 goal, 16 points, minus 14 in 78 games player on a good team, I don’t know what to expect next. Braun is trending towards 7th defender with those numbers.

When it comes to Ghost, if you have to trade him, you sell high. You have to trade him as if he’s a star or at minimum, the best player in the deal.

So Seravalli tweeted Talbot is likely to end up in Calgary. Could the best option signing Elliott to a 1 yr deal cheap? In theory, they have to cover 30 games outside of Hart. The medical staff should have the most info in the league pertaining to his health. Very curious to see where they go.

In regards to no Tanner, is it because he’s attended x amount already in the past? Or am I thinking of another training/camp? Didn’t this happen with Stolarz in the past or am I making this up?
- arichardson22

I would be so happy if there was no Tanner, but I'm not talking about the player.

If he didn't have recent health issues, that would be a no brainer. They need to have someone that can take over the #1 spot and not have to worry about someone that may become injury prone.

I don t doubt other GMs have called about his availability and doing their due diligence. In fact, I can even believe some of the rumors of the proposed trades offered. I ll believe Ghost is traded when I see it.

Ghost for Nylander makes more sense.

After the poop that went down at the beginning of last year, if they don't sign a quality back that does not have a chronic injury history and can take over #1 duties if Hart struggles or get injured then they will never learn.

He also played 20+ minutes a night and was a reliable player. His stats probably dont look as good considering martin jones couldnt stop a beach ball. There is no mistake in playing a reliable veteran over hagg/morin

They may wait until Provorov's contract is settled but unfortunately I believe Ghost will be traded.

Gives Leafs cap relief and much needed help on the blueline
I think Nylander will do well next year , tough to come in mid season like last year.

Totally agree rather than throwing out a hypothetical trade as a topic we all need to rage more about the Flyers sucking at cap management. 😎

One has to think that at some point, Hartman will find the right fit and put it all together. Maybe he eventually ends up in AZ, reunited with Hinostroza.

Byron is a heckuva player. Might be a decent straight up trade but I'm not sure I want to see Ghost go. I feel like he's going to put it all together.
- Pixote Andolini

I like Paul Byron too. Can skate like the wind and is a threat to score. That one year he had an absurd shooting percentage in the 20's.

But not for Ghost.

Let's talk about the lineup. Assume TK, Provy and Laughton all sign the RFA deals. Forget about cap space, what is left to fill the roster? Another RW, a 13th forward and a back up goalie? Is Bailey or NAK the 13th forward?

I can see the merits of a trade if they are looking for a cost certainty with term RW option. I just don t know if there is one truly out there at this time. I never thought Voracek would finish his contract as a Flyer.
