The money in the NBA is about the most complicated thing in sports. I don't get it either. But if the Sixers are giving him the big contract and dealing him I hope they get something useful in return.

Absolutely 100%. Id rather do a sign and trade, and then see if we can get back Gordon and Capela. I think Capela could easily be our starting 4 and if ReRichard doesn't come back, Gordon can be the shooter that compliments Simmons. I dont think Toby deserves a max contract though, he really disappeared in the playoffs, it was extremely disappointing to see him miss wide open shot after wide open shot.

I'm glad other people havent given up on him. People keep calling him a bust but I think this kid will be a beast especially with that chip on his shoulder this year. You know he is waiting to win the crowd over with a monster hit and smear someone across the boards! Well that's what I'm waiting for, anyway

Please let all of this come true, pleeeease

Houston Rockets apparently trying to work out a sign and trade for Jimmy Butler...
- hereticpride

Latest report 76ers are determined to sign Butler and have no interest in letting him leave FA

No they weren’t and they didn’t play enough games between the three of them to prove you right.
- SuperSchennBros

You’re right the flyers would have been better off playing the same game 62 games and stopping less than 90%. Riiight

I agree with you 100%.

This kid has the size and potential to be a beast back there. He has been waiting years to prove himself. I expect big things from Morin this season. We havent had someone like this on the blue line since pronger.
I'm not comparing him to pronger before someone plays that card... he is just a big boy and has a mean streak, something this squad lacks

- sILKAsSINASALO

Completely agree, and maybe that's why they thought it was ok to let gudas go. I think morin will be a stud.

Yea gotta say I'd literally take almost anyone over Jones after last year. He was beyond brutal.

Ah, yes, if that is the case then we cannot afford to send him through waivers. It's a shame he hasn't either been fully healthy or been eclipsed by dmen like AMac, Nick Schultz, Brandon Manning, Evgeny Medvedev, and to a lesser extent Johnny Oduya and Christian Folin. And now, unless we make a move, behind our projected top 6 AND Hagg, there doesn't seem to be room for him, barring an injury or a trade as i mentioned.

I told you Morin wouldn't clear waivers hours ago.

All I know is that every time he gets a chance to play he plays a strong game. I still think he was the one who deserved to make the team 2 seasons ago.

When Morin played a few games late last season, despite not having played in a long time, he did not look out of place like he wasn't capable of playing in the NHL.

This. I hate seeing people give up on him. Guy made the roster out of camp and got injured right away, and the injuries lingered on. He’s had such a great attitude despite the setbacks and didn’t look out of place last year. I’m sure he’s worked his ass off this summer too to finally get his chance.

Imagine how different his life she career would be if he made the team when he should have

He would have No injuries and we could have made the playoffs. All hypothetical but it's how I feel. He has potential to be a game changer, imo

All I want is for him to play a simple physical game. Clear the porch, win battles in the corners, and get the puck out of the zone with possession. I want the other team to be wary of touching the puck when he is on the ice.

this to the moon!

Having these veterans just being a part of the corps and being in the room and in practice every day, teaching and showing them the way to play, i think will do wonders. these guys also will hold people accountable, which i think will go a long way towards those stinkers that popped up every once in a while, the 6-0's and the 5-1's. I think Giroux is a fine Captain, and he does have Voracek and Coots, but they can't do it all on their own and there was no one on the backend to be the "voice" if you will. I think Niskanen is going to do a whole lot more for the entire blue line then just his play/stats.

I do know paying that much for Braun is a bit much, but what I think he will do for our dmen in their own end, and being a first and foremost defensive defenseman, will be worth the overpay, even if only for a year.

- sjk540

You said it perfect about Braun! He is a defensive defenseman and that gives the more aggressive younger guys more chances to pinch on the play and release some shots. Fletcher must really like what he brings and I do top, just the overpayment makes it a not as good of a move because the second round of the draft was pretty deep.
I'm not mad and I wont be upset about any of it. I'm genuinely excited about this season, which is a huge turnaround of how I felt when the season ended.
Braun and ghost may even be a good combo. That way ghost can be himself and get gos game back.
Nisky is such a good move. You know it like I do that his presence alone has value. Our D Corp is so good but so inexperienced and even though nisky isnt the best Dman he has played with the best and is a plethora of knowledge and he will be a good leader. He genuinely seemed excited about it too during his presser.

You're pretty knowledgable... what do you think of Morin? He has a lot of tools and size to use... I imagine he starts as the 7th man but I can see him moving up quickly, as someone stated earlier

Same here!! I feel like so many people have written him off but I feel the opposite. He could be a huge impact player. Everyone needs a monster on the blue line and since this is a soft team he will make the other team play with their heads up the whole game. He intimidating and we don't have anyone like that

I am going to need someone to explain the point of the Hartman trade from the Dallas perspective to me. Bill?

From what I understand his QO was too much for the Stars, yet they would still like to discuss a contract with him. The risk is that now all teams can discuss a contract with him. Think that wraps it up.

UFA at age 24. Fascinating for the former first round pick. And weird that he still doesn’t know.

It really is curious. 100% he will find a team and play a bottom 6 role, all that's a question is which team. i would have loved to keep him on our team and see what he can do with regular linemates and a defined role, as you said he's only 24 and he's a plus skater. very curious indeed.

Anyone see some of the video clips from camp? Or actually there? Prospects looking good! Can’t wait for October.
