Ohh god those days were so bad lol - Savetheembers33
It was about this time I started to understand hockey more and started to get more into it as the coverage of it out here became better. By god was it a bad time to be a young hawks supporter haha |

The one good thing was that it was easy to go to games and get good seats. |

Yeah Anaheim would be quite upset, agreed 🙄 |

Fleece Vegas for Eakin and Gusev for Dahlstrom and a draft pick and trade Anisimov in a separate move. Dach and Jokiharju make the team.
Gusev-Toews-Kane
Cat-Strome-Sikura
Saad-Dach-Kubalik
Caggiula-Eakin-Perlini
Kampf
Keith-Gustafsson
de Haan-Murphy
Maatta-Jokiharju
Seabrook - EbonyRaptor
If they could get Gusev and Eakin from Vegas would you deal AA and Gus for Kessel? Then you're looking at...
Gusev-Toews-Kane
Cat-Strome-Kessel
Saad-Eakin-???
Caggiula-Kampf-???
Sikura, Kubalik, Perlini, Wedin etc. fighting for those last 3 spots
Keith-Joki
Matta-Murphy
de Haan-Seabrook (included him this team for ya lol)
KK, Hillman, Carlsson, etc. fighting for that last spot
Crow
???

I just don’t see what the penguins gain with a swap of AA and Kessel unless the prospect was maybe one of our 4 defenseman prospects |

Lmao ohh I know I really started getting into Hockey right before they traded Roenick, Chelios, Belfour and that just crushed me. Then trying be hopeful for some of the guys we got back at the time and not being able to watch half the games was brutal lol I remember being like seven listening to the game on my radio while reading the sports section from that morning to see if he guys stats lmao man how times have changed |

If it's Gus they get a guy who can produce and help spark their offense while gaining some extra cap space

At least that way it's a win-win of sorts for both teams. Hawks get another legit top six forward. Pens get more depth, an offensive D-Man, and about 2M in cap space to sign one of the FAs
I'd be surprised if it happened but it could work

McCann would be a solid pick-up from the Penguins. He’s a former 1st round pick which seems to be Stan’s motive these days, plus he plays well defensively. |

Wouldn't Kessel have to agree to the trade? I'm not sure if he thinks the Hawks are close to winning again. |

Pitt would get cap space and a 2nd line center...so when they trade Malkin to FLA, they have someone to fill the whole while saving money
Pitt also saves by only paying AA 2 mil since his contract is prorated |

Yes he would need to waive but playing with Kane, Toews, and the cast of secondary players makes the team an attractive team to play for more so that Minnesota.
I highly doubt it happens but it would add another legit sniper to this team with the additions on the back end to improve the teams defense could take this team back to legit Playoff contention.
If they don't then try n poach Vegas for a talent or two as well to help their cap out while adding a legit bottom six forward with defensive skill (Brandon Tanev come on down) would help the team tremendously

It would at least partially be a cap dump for the Pens - they only have about $3.9m is cap space and would like to make some moves/signings. Murray and Schultz are due raises in a year too. They'd likely prefer to move Johnson, Gudbranson, Horqvist, and Rust first but some are harder moves and some aren't enough. They also have limited options since Kessel have a 8 team trade list unless he waived his NTC (which he already said no to doing).
Where did the rumor the Hawks were interested in Kessel come from btw? |

Not sure I am thrilled to be trading for Damaged goods ,must have faith the HAWKS Doctors did their due diligence on De Haan Shoulder . Nice little family reunion for Saarela brothers ,what's next a Vlasic deal . I do think Saarela maybe a solid prospect . Not sure either Frosberg or Frosling will work out or not, both decent players . Wish them both well . |

Depends on if the Hawks are already on his NTC list. The limited 8-10 team list is why Sharp's return was pretty weak and mostly salary for salary - Dallas was the only team on his list that gave even a halfway decent offer. Kessel is not going to bring in his value, if they end up moving him. |

Seabrook + Dahlstrom +2nd for Michael Matheson - EnzoD
Hell I'd make it a conditional first (lottery exempt) if they eat his whole salary even though Matheson is signed to a boatload of a deal himself |

FYI anytime anyone asks how long I've been a Hawks for I mention Sergi Krivokrasov to see how long they've been a fan for lmfao

Why does Florida want to give up a 25 year old top pairing quality d-man? He's worth more than a 1st + Dahlstrom + taking on Seabrook. Matheson played more at 5v5 than Ekblad, only about a minute less overall than Yandle, and is excellent on the PK. Him being signed for a while is what is good about his deal from Florida's perspective.
On top of that, taking on Seabrook's cap hit is undesirable if they're trying to save money for Bob + potentially Panarin. |

I was accused of being a hawks bandwagoner by a Canadian guy I got to know... then I mentioned sitting through the brief Krivokrasov era and the Adrian Aucoin captaincy era and he soon realised I had been around for a little bit haha |
