Here is a rundown of where Blackhawk prospects are likely to be playing during the 2019-20 season:

EUROPE:
(F) J Dahlstrom, From, Nordgren, Olofsson, Antti Saarela
(D) Galvas, Laavainen
(G) none

KHL:
(F) Altybarmakyan, Kayumov, Shalunov
(D) none
(G) Nalimov (perhaps in Rockford)

NCAA:
(F) Barratt, Foo, Slavin, Wise
(D) Ess, Mitchell, Shea, Vlasic
(G) none

JUNIORS:
(F) Teply
(D) Moberg
(G) Basse, Gravel

All other prospects are mostly in Rockford, maybe a few in Indy, and a handful possibly in Chicago.

BLACKHAWKS:
(F) Dach, Sikura
(D) 1-3 of Dahlstrom, Jokiharju, and/or Koekkoek
(G) perhaps one of Delia or Lankinen

Boqvist is a wild card as he could be in any of Chicago, Rockford, or London.

Wait, someone explain to me again why Boqvist is eligible for the AHL next season?
- Ogilthorpe2

Because in the AHL and NHL you need to actually know how to play defense?

Prediction...short term contract SB is looking for after the Anisimov dump will be... Valtteri Filppula.
- frafra

I mentioned him as a guy Stan may look at on a one year deal. Only issue is he signed that last year and went out and had a strong year for the Islanders. He may be looking for 2-3 years. Whether he gets that at 35 is another question.

If DBC gets 50 next year and he very well could ,he will be looking at 9 or 10 mil .If Strom hits 70 points he looking at 7 mil .I try and lock them up now DBC 8 mil 5years and Strom 6 for 5 years .. Get her done .

I’d give it to him for 35-40 - better play when the puck is going the other way.

Strome, too.

interesting schedule
home heavy in October and March
Road heavy in December and February
So, start strong, hang in there in the middle months of the season then go on a winning streak to close out the year.

After the opener in Prague, they have 7 straight home games.

Too many to start the season (altho it would provide plenty of practice time) - they need to start out strong because there would be only 34 home games left in the 5 + remaining months.

And those 7 straight home games include SJS, Caps, VGK, Jets, CBJ (whoever is left on that roster), PHI, EDM.

Read this morning that Calgary has cap issues. too. They have 13M to extend goalie Rittich, obtain a back up goalie, sign FRA's Tkachuck, Bennett and Mangiapane

Maybe they want to move Frolik and his 4.3M for cap space. Since they are in a bind and don't want salary back, possibly a mid round draft pick or two can get him.

I could see Anisimov being flipped for picks post-7/1 then Frolik being acquired for picks. I don’t see a straight up swap, the Hawks will need to move AA to another team.

I don’t see Shaw returning, he has too much term left on his deal and he’s too injury prone given his style of play.

If Bowman is considering Frolik, he should be looking for a sweetener in such a deal. Frolik has a hefty Cap hit for someone who spent some time in the doghouse. He also expressed that he wants to be moved. So some retention or a prospect as in the DeHaan deal would have to be included.
I am not as enamored with his return on full salary plus giving up assets for him as some. Hopefully that is Stan's thinking too.

The heavy home schedule early is allowing extra practice time to learn Colliton's new system. Maybe too the team gets over to Wrigley as Cubs lock up playoffs. Can dream Blackhawks follow suit.

If Sodetland starts in Rockford but gets recalled,
He is so fast that he would beat a Jimmy Johns delivery.

Sad face

Whatever

From @FriedgeHNIC 31 Thoughts - Joe Pavelski is not a 'lock' to visit with the #Blackhawks, although he may reconsider. Says Tampa Bay and Dallas are front-runners. Friedman also hints that an extension for GM Stan Bowman is rumored.
