Reaves played some of the lowest quality of competition in the league and got skewed OZS - it's not hard to be decently effective under those circumstances. Vegas could have a 4th line like that because their top players are strong defensively - I mean, Karlsson was a checking center when he was with Columbus. Reaves is a bad passer, bad in transition (like almost league worst), and he contributes almost nothing in terms of shots.
On top of that, his TOI decreases in the playoff to about 8-9 minutes total with no special teams help - signaling when the competition really gets started, the coach doesn't actually find him all that effective.
As a team looking to get better defensively, they need their 4th line to be a checking line that faces at least 2-3L QOC and takes defensive zone stars, neither of which Reaves can do well even a little. - L_B_R
So what’s your point?

I almost felt sorry for Schneider... but then I didn’t. |

If this is for the Hall of Fame it shows Rick was right about the quality of players who are nominated, let alone inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. - paulr
Yes, it was just announced and I agree. The HOF is a joke.

The Leafs were in the Norris with the Hawks for 10-12 years though meaning a playoff series win against the Habs or B's would mean a Stanley Cup but that still hurts. - Popsghostly
Wait, I stand corrected, Toronto was up 4-1, late in 3rd in game 7 against Bruins, back in 2013. NO NHL TEAM has ever come back from that situation. So Toronto must have won that one, the only time in last 60 years they would have beaten Boston:

Now I have nothing against Sergei Zubov but gimme a break with Guy Carbonneau. He was a 3rd line checking center, nice player but HOF? Ahead of somebody like Alex Mogilny yet.
Whats next - Dave Bolland nominated ho the Hall by Steve Rain? |

Vegas has about a half hour to qualify the three RFA's on their NHL roster - Gusev, Nosek and Subban. - - boilermaker100
Gusev is a stud, he was lights out in that last tourney.
I'd take a shot and eat that Clarkson contract for a year. |

Leddy is Savvy's nomination. Steve is all over Bolland for the Hall.
Only one will probably get in because they need room for some stiff that played for the Leafs or Bruins in 1968. |

Honestly, I'd rather see them lottery tank for one more year....because no matter what deals Stan makes this season he still will not have the horses to make a serious run for the Cup this season. - Return of the Roar
Remember, the Blues won the cup. It seems reasonable to use them as a standard of comparison for this upcoming year (i.e. how well do the Hawks match up against them now, currently one of the elite teams?). We'll see in a few months what the final roster looks like, but it sure seems in the current moment that one can make a strong argument that the gap has significantly closed. |

Gusev playing LW with Kane would look a lot like another Russian sniper who recently played with Kane. Don't know what kind of coin/term Gusev would sign for but if it's a reasonable 2-year deal at around $4M which would bridge him to free agency - that would be very good.
Sign Gusev for $4M, take on Clarkson's LTIR contract and trade Anisimov. Done.

Haha. Don’t forget savvyone. We will do a joint presser.
Jr should be in. 27 should be in the rafters but we got Maggie so every meathead can rejoice at that.....😳😳😳 |

I’d rather Stan try to land Copp out of Winnipeg. - DarthKane
I'd rather have (reunite) Copp and Tanev if that's possible. |

That would be the ultimate best case scenario, they’ve were quite a combo in Winnipeg. |

Had to look it up - Carbonneau had 6 seasons with single digit number of goals and 2 other seasons where he had 10 and 14. And this is a HOF'er?

I don’t get it either. I’m sure his corsi retroactive Stats are amazing though. Ugh.
What a joke. Good player. Not a great player. Certainly not a hall of famer. |

If the penalty kill is fixed the Hawks are in the playoff conversation
Not sure Frolik is that answer but he would help |
