Michael Frolik. One year left on his $4.3M deal. PK'er extraordinaire. Pretty good season last year: 65 games, 16 goals, 34 points. |

Didn't Kane play with him during some Team USA thing (on the top line) and loved it?
IIRC the 2014 Winter Olympics? - Slofire94
Yep. They had great chemistry together. Been wanting Pav for a while now because not only is he a terrific two-way player, but he shows up when it matters April-June.
Would be a fantastic addition, even as he’s about to turn 35. |

I believe it was all Q's fault that he didnt develop into another David Pasternak and that forced Stan to trade him and get an insulting return that a monkey could have done better on. - RickJ
Yes, everything was Q’s fault, or so the narrative goes. Amazing how he won all those games in the NHL, considering what a poor coach he is. |

Does anyone really believe top UFA's like Pavelski and Lee are going to take 1-year deals? Therefore, if the plan is to sign Pavelski or Lee - what is the plan for Cat and Strome next season? The easy answer is get rid of a couple players off the roster like Anisimov and Saad but both of those players are contributors that aren't easily replace by guys currently playing in Rockford. |

Why is anyone thinking Debrincat or Strome will be asking for in the $8-9m range? Neither have produced like Marner so it's not their best comparison. Their RFA player comps are a bit lower than that.
Their comps are in the $6x6m range, give or take $1m and 1 years. Debrincat would be on the higher end, maybe Taraenko money and term, but Strome would likely be in the Scheifele range at the top end. The only way they reach into $8m territory is if they both just boom next season somehow which is unlikely - maintaining or small growth, sure, but not a Marner level jump. Neither are as good. |

Do we only need one center per team or something? Two is you count Toews? Man.
I mean, at some point, they're going to need to replace Toews - the hope is Dach turns into a 1C, yes? Then Strome is the 2C. Their other even slightly decent center prospects Kurashev, Wise and Barratt top out at 3C currently (if they make the NHL at all). - L_B_R

Forgot about him honestly. But yes, Entwistle's in that group that tops out at 3C. |

Agreed. Everyone wants to trade AA cause Dach “can” play centre. Get real. WHL center and NHL are light years apart. |

Tbf he said he was "mostly" looking at one-year deals and was talking about his focus on PK forwards. He didn't rule out Pavelski for example when Knight kept poking him about it. |

The more I read about Saarela, the more I like him. Imagine if the Hogs had a 36 goal scorer, he would be penciled in at 1 LW. Seems like a Kahun type player with a better knack for scoring. |

Neither of which are projected to be near 2C. Saarela was literally just drafted - it's going to be a while before you see him. |

Nylander signed for $7 mil and he is in the 60 point range - LAHawk Reading can be hard, it's alright.
1) I asked where the $8-9m range people have been throwing around came from. $7m is not $8-9m. I did allow that Debrincat could reach maybe Tarasenko money, which is outside that $6+1m range, but still lower than $8m.
2) I specifically said "their comps are in the $6x6m range, give or take $1m and 1 years." I mean, my math could be off here but I'm pretty sure $7m is within $1m of $6m. |

The guy who has played LW for years now? Idk what he would have to do with centers, but he's also not projected to be a 2C. Again, may not even be a NHLer yet - have to wait to see but he project bottom 6. |

BTW, anyone interested. Wiz was on The-Rink podcast with JJ talking about the Hawks draft, and the trades the Hawks just made |
