Ever year guys pass that had no chance of passing. He hasnt played in 2 years so not sure what team would claim him in October and give him a roster spot. Now if he has a good camp than that could change things
- daryl stanley

I’d take a bet that someone would take a chance and claim him

I don’t think the Flyers would risk it by putting him on waivers

It may turn out that he never makes it as a player but that’s still an unknown

I’m sure there are people who think he won’t ever make it but I don’t think the Flyers think that

Home town discount.

It's probably closer to what's he's actually worth.

I don't think he's ever gonna score 40+ goals again (that was a SH% season for the ages), and he's probably more of a 50-60 pt guy, a low-end 1C or top-end 2C.

Good value contract for them.

Again. Didn't say it was right, wrong, good, great or grand. Just said there are always ways to make a move.

But you bring up the scenario where a team moved a pick. Didn't you say we should strive to be Tampa? They made a move and got back a 1st. Why didn't you bring that deal up. That was a cap move.

I get Puljujarvi is a risk. I just think for a 3rd line winger, I would take that chance as i think his reward could be high. That is all.

The reason why I didn't mention the Miller trade is because I didn't think it would need to be explained but apparently it does. Miller is 26 years old and is a quality scoring line forward in his prime.
You dont trade a quality established bottom 6 forward like Laughton for a risk and to take a chance. You give up a 3rd round pick or a mid level prospect. Your trade proposals are repeatedly poorly thought out.

Interesting take and that could happen. I just see his size and that contract and think a bunch of teams would be interested. Especially teams with cap issues looking for a defenseman. I am really not comfortable with them taking that chance.

I think a few years ago before he got hurt he was the guy who deserved to make the team, when they chose Hagg and Sanhiem.

Some see him as a bust but I dont. Injuries are what they are.

If he is healthy and seriously hope he is the guy who makes the team as the sixth. In fact I want to see Myers and Morin out play Braun and make him the 7th. Especially since I hate that trade and don't think we needed to do it.

the contract is very good. To me it depends when he gets waived, hypothetically. If it was say January a team that probably will miss the playoffs would likely take a shot and let him the last few months. That would be wise. In October not so sure.

I dont waive him either. Rather he be a bust here then go somewhere else and even be a bottom pairing guy. He is in a tough spot for where the team is right now. He going to have to outplay a couple players to get playing time.

Braun is a top 4 dman. Why are people thinking he might be the 7th? Not a chance to start or anytime unless he completely collapses.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Rags got Panarin. How's their rebuild going? Is it on track for 10 years from now?

You are persistent, I'll give you that.

I think Laughton is a better player than Puljujarvi.
- MBFlyerfan

he is and thats a fact. If you make that trade your basing it purely on upside and the Oilers being inept.

Right now I have Laughton, Pitlick and Raffl as 4th line options. Where is the risk in a move of Laughton for Puljujarvi?

Laughton had a good year but if he is playing a primarily 4th line role is he going to have the same type of year as last year where he had more chances higher in the lineup?

Especially if I have a Pulujarvi kind of getting the same protection Patrick is. Maybe this kid just needs some consistency in his life. He was yo-yo'd around in Edmonton. I just see more high end potential in Puljujarvi then Laughton.

Totally agree Laughton was the best player first 30 games last year
They should let Raffl and Laughton play 4th line and key role in PK
