just moving on from Hartman, they were not going to be able to sign him for what he wanted I assume. Bring up some speed from the AHL, Kase if he has a good camp. that line with more speed would be pretty good

I think he'd sooner end up as the 4th line LW since Raffl can play anywhere. I just don't like the thought of asking him to step into the league at a position he doesn't play.

I'd rather have vet NHLers get 8 minutes a night on 4th line and let Frost marinate in AHL playing with Farabee and/or Ratcliff.

This trade is just a way to give the kids space on the roster. Hartman probably wanted three years and fletcher wants room for nak, ratcliff, Allison, Frost, farabee, etc all after next year. This is just like the Bauer and nisky trades, planning space for the kids to grow into. The thing that Hextall never did.

In a vacuum this is a nothing for nothing trade, although Hartman def has more upside. It's only really being discussed because Hartman was part of the Simmonds return.

In my opinion this is a cap move. Hartman is the more skilled and talented player in my opinion. This also potentially opens up a roster spot for a young player.

Yes. The only reason some people were up in arms about it is because Hartman was part of the Simmer trade.

I was initially upset about the trade as I do think hartman is superior, but delving into the stats i think theyre both probably about equal level players

LOL, how did Konecny, Patrick, Sanheim, Provorov, Lindholm all get a roster spot and playing time then?

Seems like Pitlick does better at the AHL level, but his million dollar cap hit is manageable. Just another natural center that will probably sit more than he plays.

Decent size. Plays physical. Must have some skill...he was pretty high pick (31). Only has a year left. Sounds ok with me. Is he a ginger?

It is an indictment of the Simmonds trade.

Does anyone else read these posts in the voice of Steve Martin as one of the Festrunk bothers? “We’re two wild and crazy guys”

So far Fletcher has done a decent job.He hasnt traded away any youth and imo had a good draft.I think everyone's essential thought of him trading all the youth for vets has been put to bed for now.

Doubtful. They need to sign a backup goalie. The open RW spot will likely end up with someone making close to league minimum barring any other trades.
