Last year in Dallas Pitlick had 70% of his shifts start in the d-zone and his Corsi was about even relative to his team. Chipped in 8-4-12 in 47 games which I guess isnt awful considering how little offensive zone time he got |

He’s a 13th forward type.... - landros 2
So we traded a bonified starter for a utility bench player? Is this to avoid the UFA payout? |

Not quite sure what to feel about it other than to say soft team keeps getting softer? - opeth_pa
Pitlick averages more hits per game than Hartman |

Idk what you consider as a proxy for toughness but Pitlick gets more hits than Hartman |

No question now. Simmonds was moved a year too late. |

Hartman probably wanted x amount so he moved him is my guess. Unless it was a lot still would have kept him for 1 year if possible |

Point taken.
At least Tyler doesn’t spend a lot of time in the penalty box. Press box, maybe.

The Simmonds/Hextall super fans here would have you think otherwise. |

I really have no opinion when 4th liners are traded for one another. I guess one could make the argument Hartman could play 3rd line. I m good with giving Frost a shot at wing coming out of camp. Wouldn t want him pkaying 4 th linr. |

Other than taking a few bad penalties, I barely noticed Hartman while he was with the Flyers |

He did have the obligatory “great first game as a flyer” though
And now he’ll get the complimentary “first game goal against the flyers after being traded” |

Frost would be out of position at RW I believe. He plays center and left wing. I presume the LW depth goes G, JVR, Linblom, Raffl. I'm not really sure where Frost would play this year other than the 4th line... |

Those last 19 games that he played in, nobody on the team made a big splash.

He did play LW iat Worlds. I just wonderif they would give him a shot at RW in a sheltered 3rd line role. |

RFA. It was an opportunity to show what he was worth. I didn’t see much. He wasn’t even particularly aggressive, that I remember. I don’t know anything about Pitlick. |

I think he'd sooner end up as the 4th line LW since Raffl can play anywhere. I just don't like the thought of asking him to step into the league at a position he doesn't play. |

Certainly understandable. I think they view Pitlick as better defensively then Hartman. Let s face it, the team defense last season was pretty bad. A game plan of trying to protect Hart is not a bad thing.

Seems like Pitlick does better at the AHL level, but his million dollar cap hit is manageable. Just another natural center that will probably sit more than he plays.
