This could be yes though - he was exceptional at Worlds. Delia, Lankinen, and potentially Nalimov is the best goalie depth the Hawks have had in years. - L_B_R
Let them battle it out in training camp who ever comes out on top is your potential backup. Rather imo a vet backup for Crawford. |

Now I'm a little more annoyed they picked up Maatta for Kahun. There's no need for him if they were able to get De Haan for Forsberg+Forsling. Would have prefered:
Keith-Jokiharju
De Haan-Murphy
Gus-Seabrook
No need for Maatta. - L_B_R
maybe matta doesn't make it past the convention...

Great trade for you guys!
Aside from De Haan, I think you're gonna like Saarela and what he might bring to your team in relatively short notice!

Anders Lee.
The Hawks pulled a White Sox move...they brought in De Haan because he is a former teammate of Lee! LOL
Does the Blackhawks roster look more appealing to free agents after the Maata/De Haan additions? - frafra
Oh my just stop. LOL. Except DeHaan is a good player while Yonder Alosnso is a stiff. |

I question the timing of this trade. Did Stan really need to pull the trigger today, he could have waited and gave up less to get De Haan. #anotherbowmanfail - DarthKane

I'm a bit delirious (lack of sleep and happy about de Haan trade), so realize that this is a stretch.
For arguments sake, what would it take for you to unload Keith without a true "1" (or one time "1") on the roster? A Top 6 F? I think the D STILL needs to improve via upgrades of F's up and down the roster (a la Eakin, Kadri, other).
I think Stan has a lot of feelers to the South (FLA)....some beloved Hawk (perhaps AA) will likely soak up some sun and cap space with Q. - phantasmo
I am not moving Keith. |

With the additions of Maata and DeHaan, I would think Gus doesnt get moved.
If you move Gus, there's practically zero offense coming from the backend.

Now add pk help and forechecking and physical type players still imo there a trade or signing coming that is big maybe not money wise but player wise. Keep it going Bowman. |

Lol why Alonso is getting at bats over Collins is a difficult question to answer.
In all seriousness though...love the additions of Maata and De Haan. Their blue line is significantly stronger today than it was in April. Hopefully Bowman can continue this trend of trimming fat and adding quality NHL players. If Gus or Murphy go, would love to see some forward depth or draft picks.
Im also not opposed to moving Keith for the right return. |

So what’s the matter with this?
Was forsberg going anywhere here? NO
Was Forsling? NO
He didn’t give up anyone off the active roster and acquired a decent depth f prospect.
I see zero problems with this. DeHaan can block shots and protect his end. Now everyone’s new whipping boy maata can play even less minutes. |

How much less could we go, bag a doritos and a tab?
Forsberg and Forsling both were no longer options here. We lost nothing basically. |

Also, de Haan has three more years left on his deal.
Just another StanBo acquisition with term. I REALLY don't think he partakes in the madness that ensues on July 1. All these FA's tied to the Hawks - I don't see it.
Whatever moves are made from here until next week will be through the trade route. The roster will likely be finalized with minor free agent activity. |

Think they have their own self induced salary cap, thinking they know Aho is getting an OS if they don't resign him. He's going to be looking for 10 mil.
They can't afford to lose him. |

As Alonso drives in the lead run. Keep poop talking him. Maybe we can get him up to .200 by the end of the year. |

I’m not so sure anyone is moving from this blueline. Think the plan is to have quality depth plus de Haan is out til December. I like the pairings and think they’ll keep looking for ways to improve the club via trades as Stan said. UFA prices are too crazy thus far. |

4th line grinders and PK specialists.
Hawks fix their PK, they are a completely different team as far as standings. |

Correct. Nothing off active roster or who would be on roster next year.
My favorite memory of forsberg is at least he got fired up when guys embarrassed him in the shoot out and then we never saw him again.
I don’t get the issue here. Hawks improved d again and gave away nothing. |
