So, it appears that Dach either heads back to Saskatoon or stays with the Hawks, eh?
It also seems he is not a lavender sniffer. - mohel
You're giving Blowman allot of undeserved credit. Do you really believe the Hawks wouldn't draft a lavender sniffer?

I am pretty sure Dach is a lamb in wolf's clothing...not Kwolf's clothing cause that would be weird. |

There is no doubt he's a lamb.
I see the Hawks didn't let Darth down and in fact drafted a Cole, just one that is double the size. |

Of the guys you mention, I wouldn’t mind Zuke or Pavelski, depending on hit and term.
I’d still prefer they get a 3C like someone say Copp from WPG in a trade. Get him and maybe sign Taney and your bottom 6 and team D look a bit better. - HawkintheD

I don"t know if you can buy out a player - the player has to agree or not? Then you still retain the salary cap hit or not. Anyone care to expound on the still current terms under the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Colin Wilson: too expensive? A former #1. What ties does he have to Chicago. How is his skating. Average?
AND: Rookies camp the is normally the.week after July 4 week

Hey Tyler. Thx for the constant new blogs during this busy draft and FA time. I am sure we all appreciate it. I know I do.
My main interest these next few days is to see if Stan can take advantage of some desperate teams like Leafs, Sharks, Vegas and other Cap pushing teams.
Got knows we got stripped of talent when we were the Cap Hell team. Hope we can now benefit some from the new CAP crunchers.
Also, interested to see who overpays on these FAs. Really hoping Stan can avoid any long-term, high cost guys. But, I KNOW several GMs will be inking contracts they will regret before the ink is dry.
Very interesting time of the year indeed! |

player has no say
you do retain a cap hit...it can be substantial depending on $$ and term left..
for example buying out seabs would not help the hawks at all for the next two years... |

The Sharks have $26 mil. tied to their defense in just 3 guys (Karlson, Vlasic and Burns) |

My guess is that he gets a 9 game tryout to start the regular season. If he’s not ready, he goes back to Junior, where he can dominate, as well as play for Canada 🇨🇦 in the World Juniors. Then rejoin the Hawks after his regular Junior season ends. - scottak
THIS!!! An almost ideal scenerio. Very few 18 year olds can play effective hockey right after they are drafted. An audition with the big club, followed by a great experience at the World Juniors...they, if ready. Back to the Hawks at tail end of the year. Sounds like a great path! |

As expected. Stan wouldn't have mentioned that unless they were close on a deal.
I would expect a 2 year deal within the $1.7M-2.2M range AAV. |

Good morning Tyler, it's a interesting and exciting week. Tons of curiosity and speculation on hawks trades and free agent signings.
You mentioned Vancouver and a Chicago connection ? Would you care to elaborate more on that possibility?
Also if Chicago does make a move that brings in another defenseman , who is the odd man out ?
Can you see Stan buying out Seabrook?
I heard Chicago is very interested in Anders Lee, if Chicago inks him do you see them adding a NTC, or NMC to protect him from expansion? - Taylorst1
THIS.
@JamesCybulski
Heard over the weekend that #Canucks & #Blackhawks had discussed swapping the 3rd and 10th overall picks so Vancouver could jump up to get Bowen Byram, but Chicago wanted Van to take D Brent Seabrook and the remaining 5 years/$6.875M AAV on his contract. Thus the deal died.

I heard some things as I had a few spies at the Draft and there was a lot of chatter between the teams.
James Cybulski just dropped this nice nugget. |

whoaa....does that mean seab waived his NTC to go to nucks...i can see why the nucks turned that down...hawks need to give more than 7 pick swap |

If only Chiarelli were working in Vancouver’s front office already... Stan could have swung this somehow where we’d give them Seabrook and they’d give us their 10th overall. |

Possibly? It’s his home town area, so it’s probably one of the places he’d be inclined to waive to go to. |

I don't know if it matters really -- either way, it hopefully lights a fire under Seabrook's ass and he does more in the off-season besides some Skype workout sessions with Goodman. I don't want to see another video promo of this guy "working out" when we then find out it's a virtual session.
Somebody pull the plug on Seabs' Peloton, would you?!!!! |

I don’t get the obsession with hometowns and players wanting to play in/near them
I personally dislike mine, and avoid going back in possible... |
