How dare they try to spur interest. Sell tickets. Get the fans to spend money on merchandise. Put a face on a kid they picked believing he can be a big part of the organization. The bastards.
- Elbows15

Especially with the Bulls also having an introduction presser today.

Was Vlasik there too?

With his skillset and a full summer with the Hawks maybe he takes a step forward, i personally don't have much faith in the Yotes development system, he was really just an afterthought in the Schmaltz trade.

If he takes a step forward he can really help the top 3 lines

- BetweenTheDots

If Sikura can put up Kahun-like numbers next season as an effective replacement, and Perlini figures out how to use his body to his advantage, that alone would be enough for the team to field what could be their deepest forward group in recent memory.

Listening to Dach at his presser and just now on the Score, I have to say he is an impressive kid.

Got me thinking, was listing to NHL Sirius last night I believe it was, and the commentators at the draft, (Scott Lachlan for sure not sure who the other ones were).

They were talking about Raphael Lavoie, and how unimpressive his interviews were. They stressed that along with the combine, tape, etc. the interviews were very, very important for teams and who'd they draft.

I can't help but think that Dach blew them away in the interviews.

Parkins raving about him now.

I am a Hawks fan. I really hope he makes me look like an idiot. Not that I need any help. I just don't see it.

How many times do you have to be benched by your coaches before the message gets through? Its not like he didn't experience it in Phoenix.

Going to be playing for his 4th team this fall. As soon as he gets comfortable he gets traded.
- BGKarras

Trying to figure out the rational for the trade, I guess Hartman is a RFA that looks like the Flyers didn't want to tender an offer and Pitlick has one year left at $1 million

The Canes reportedly offered Ferland a $6mx5 year deal and he decided he wanted to test the open market to get more/longer term. Do you want to give him Saad money when he doesn't score as much, isn't even close to as good defensively, and doesn't play on the PK?
- L_B_R

No rather sprend that money around i want Tanev accaria and copp 2 of those 3 bret Connely would be another option. Only mention ferland because brings that physical power forward element hawks need. My guess he won't get what he asking for but a team probably be stupid and overpay for him.

Nope....he has bitter feelings for being traded to Columbus. Move along.

That should settle any hope of this kid returning here.

- SteveRain

He probably wasn't even invited. So BJs trade us AA for Saad, then we get Saad back for Panarin. Both players still with us, both players are effective forwards, Panarin chasing the money. Good luck to him

If Perlini is playing in the top 6....My binnys points will be through the roof this winter.

Visited a few weeks ago, needed to buy a bottle for a retirement present.

My first trip to Binny's, I now love Binny's

Nah. Vlasic is for sure heading to college. I don't think it would affect eligibility but who knows with the idiotic rules the NCAA plays by.

I think Ferland is another Bickell, the bad Bickell that frustrated with his inconsistencies during the season. I know he got hurt in the playoffs this year, but he was not playoff Bickell, for what he iis asking, hard pass.

Maybe Hartman is just no good. And to think, Stan got a 1st round pick (Beaudin) for him.

I do wonder if many RFAs won't come to terms with their team prior to July 1st? I bet their agents are telling them the offer will be there let's see if any other teams offer you more

Very quick follow up here... Upon further/new intel, hearing Panarin doesn’t plan to returning to Chicago.

NOT A SHOCK!!

At least they let drafted players play hockey.

I'm not surprised by that. Supposedly the Avs and Kings had Dach on their boards as #1 with Byram-Turcotte being their other top 3 in that order. I think many fans fell in love with certain players because of how the rumors were going that they might pick and then specific evaluations of the players themselves. We're just never going to know until it happens how much these teams rate the players vs some dudes paid to give their opinions on the internet/TV.

The great thing is that, similar to Hughes and Kakko matching up against each other in the division.....Dach and Byram will be facing each other 5x a year.

With the Avs being my "new home team"....I'm excited to see a defense core of Byram, Makar, Girard, Zadorov, Johnson, Barrie next year. If the Avs somehow grab Panarin....they will be one of the must watch teams in the league with Mackinnon, Rantanen, Panarin
