Panarin-Toews-Kane
Debrincat-Strome-Pavelski
Saad-Dach-Kubalik/Perlini

- EnzoD

While are throwing out some fun (if unrealistic) lineups:

Saad / Toews / Kane
DeBrincat / Strome / Perlini
Panarin / Dach / Kubalik

That would create some matchup nightmares for most teams. A lot of entertaining 6-5 games. Maybe Panarin would take a 1 year / $16.25 million deal? lol

And if he signs Panarin he is truly an idiot.

It would be a PR move like the Dach presser.

While there is NO denying that Hossa was a huge signing in regards to the Hawks success, do you factor in the fact that the last four years of the contract are wasted when comparing the signings?
- Chunk

No. I factor in his huge contributions to 3 Cup winning teams because I don't think they win 3 without him.

Also. You signed him to a 12 year contract under totally difference rules figuring the last 4 years were a waste anyway.

Though, without the health condition, I believe Hossa would still be a valuable piece to have on the team.

Hossa was a beast, class act etc.
We miss him big time

Strange, I find Perlini playing in the top 6 the most unrealistic part of those lines.

I don't get what the big deal with having a presser for a #1 pick especially top 3 is all about.
1. Have to put arses in seats
2. Need the TV tuned in

Good point. I forget about the timing of some of these contracts. 8 years (current max length for a deal, no?) of All-star level performance is freakish considering his age when signed.

Yeah, if another UFA brought in another 2+ cups with this group, I'd be okay with them having a few years of wasted cap space or whatever (though not really a waste for Hossa since he was LTIR'ed and traded). The cups are worth it.

The problem is that there are no Hossa level UFAs available and so term is definitely a thing that needs to be monitored closely.

How dare they try to spur interest. Sell tickets. Get the fans to spend money on merchandise. Put a face on a kid they picked believing he can be a big part of the organization. The bastards.

This is a team that has a convention every summer and people think a press conference is a big deal? Yep, it's just a way to drive interest from fans and sports driven by marketing in many many ways. Like someone else pointed out, they opened the UC to press and fans back when Kane was selected.

Agreed.....they are excited and rightfully so. They have a "lottery" pick and want the fans and casual fan to get acquainted with and be excited for him. I am OK with this, and god knows I'd love to bash McDonough over the head with his magic mirror.....

Pretty sure both the Bears and Bulls always introduce their picks, even more than the first rounders.

Its why I have been trying to think of another forward that was signed at that age range which could be considered a good signing. I am not even using Cups as a measure of success. Just a player who performed commensurate with the salary and terms.

Hossa seems to be an exception. Pretty much the only exception I have been able to recall.

Of course I am talking about in the cap era.

Does he ever get comfortable? He should have been most comfortable with here, with his hometown team, and he managed to mess it up. Played himself out of the lineup in NSH, didn't have a big role in PHL and now will see what happens in DAL.

It's a shame, he obviously has some talent, but can't seem to consistently funnel it to where he should be.Has gone from a middle six guy, to a part time 4th liner.

Good. I don't want Panarin on this team. He's going to get massively overpaid. I would rather take Pavelski on a 2-3 year contract than Panarin on a 7-8 year contract.

Agree. Could deal with the cap hit now also. Cap went up just a few years late for the Hawks.

Nope....he has bitter feelings for being traded to Columbus. Move along.

That should settle any hope of this kid returning here.

I feel the same way.

Let Panarin get the fiscal security he’s been seeking and the opportunity to be “the guy” like he could be in Florida or NYR. I don’t see a team winning with him in that role.

With his skillset and a full summer with the Hawks maybe he takes a step forward, i personally don't have much faith in the Yotes development system, he was really just an afterthought in the Schmaltz trade.

If he takes a step forward he can really help the top 3 lines

I think he signs in NY. Russians and skiing.
