If Benning removes the lottery protection, he'd have the 2021 first round pick to trade.
Tampa will get the 1st rounder next year anyway since the canucks will make the playoffs. Removing the lottery protection doesn't change anything but gives Tampa assurance they pick next year.
That gives trader Jim the 2021 pick to trade for barrie this off season.
Barrie plus JT makes them a playoff team 100%
Add panarin and they are a contender.
