If he turns out to be a decent top 6 for us. He was bottom 6 in Tampa and spent a bunch of time in the press box.

Stfu you damn dick mitten. I've read your whining nonsense for 2 (frank)in blogs now.

The kid is gamer and he will likely be his best on a line with Bo making the plays that arent natural to Bo.

I wish I was back in BC just to smack the stupid off you.

You realize he played on a stacked team in TB right? Does that compute in your simplistic cavern of a brain.

I'd rather poop in my hands and clap than listen to any more of your drivel, find a busy highway and cross...

Johansson is someone I've had on my list as a buy low if he doesn't draw much interest during the first few days of free agency. I do worry about how he'll bounce back from his concussion.

I liked him as a Bo linemate, and still do if the plan is to play Miller with EP and Brock.

I think Nyquist is a solid player but the contract won't be worth it at his age. Seems like a buy high scenario.

- Nucker101

After his playoffs 11 points in 22 games and by chance his team making the finals probably added to his next contract in what was an injured / down year.

No it wouldn't. Just never thought he had any interest in signing with Vancouver.
Trading away 1st round picks when you are not a playoff team depresses me.

Even when you are a playoff team it depresses me. I’m so depressable.

Yeah, sounds like a buy high scenario. I hope Jim does nothing more than lowball him. Interesting that he's still in the winger market. Looks like he wants to load up the top 6 and not rely on 3rd wheels anymore.

TAMPA BAY’S CAP SITUATION

The theme of the draft was how many teams were forced to free up cap space after the salary cap number was announced at $81.5-million for next season — much lower than previously expected. Tampa Bay was one of those teams. But unlike Toronto and Nashville, which either gave away players for nothing or had to package them with a first-round pick, Tampa Bay somehow managed to convince Vancouver to not only take on J.T. Miller’s $4.5-million cap hit, but also received a first-round pick in return. Expect the savings to go towards re-signing Brayden Point. And with a (presumably) high first-rounder for 2020 or 2021, expect the Lightning to stay atop the standings in the foreseeable future.

4.5 million cap hit for a 50 to 60 point player is outragious

And the Oil been stuck in mud ever since...

Give any team McDavid & they would be better than Oilers now then & in the future.

I was too upset by the Podkolzin pick and Miller trade to show my face on here.

I'm.coming around on the pick but the whining on the Miller trade is sending me over the edge....

let's say he signs a UFA winger, the winger depth chart is now:

Boeser
Miller
UFA
Baertschi
Pearson
Leivo
Virtanen
Roussel
1 of Sutter/Beagle/Gaudette
Motte
Eriksson

Reading the tea leaves here:

Goldy/Granny are gone or only brought back if they're willing to sign cheap as organizational depth

And Virtanen is potentially being shopped

Watch them load up on draft picks again, it's gonna be like part 2 of the expansion draft for them

Totally worth a 1st round pick from a club struggling to make the playoffs.

Love the player, hate the price.

[quote=Makita]Well I have decided to stay away while all the complaints, female doges, moaning continues on. The reason is I am also not happy with the first round pick that was included, it pissed me off at the time it was announced and still rubs raw.

But to just come here and be another pissed voice does no good, if there is one thing that should be on every Canucks fans bucket list, it is to make peace with the masochistic nature of fandom.

I noticed your post didn’t resonate with anyone here except possibly me, thanks for a reasoned open minded post, certainly gave a different perspective.

Who likes to give up a first round pick - not me. But the likely result won't be evident until 4-5 years unless it is a highly unlikely lottery pick. I also think Miller has good value and is a good fit. Ticks a lot of boxes in a good way.
