Exactly. I see his value as not easily replaced. There is no easy answer in clearing space unfortunately.
Curious, not that this will happen, but if JJ is sent to the minors, the cap number comes off the Cap but you still have to pay the contract? - Doogs
Blueger could replace rust this second for minimal cost. Rust is a good enough player but Jesus Christ is he vanilla. |

Wilson could replace Hornqvist the 3rd liner at almost no cost. |

Pittsburgh hockey now believes Penguins are still trying to work on a deal for Zucker. They also discuss how Simmons might be someone we pursue pending if he signs a lower cap hit deal/is within our price range. I also think we are monitoring the price for Puljujarvi. I think when his asking price drops slightly JR may consider a deal for him. |

I think Blueger is replacing Cullen as our 4th line Center. I also think they bring back Wilson on a cheap contract for the 4th line. |

You sir, can choose to be a hero for us all. Just take a tire iron to both of his knees or shins. Then we can LTIR him. |

Buyout or putting him in AHL are the only surefire options to get him off the roster ...but JR doesn't seem to be into that kinda stuff.
Also, welcome...comment more. |

Buddy I only see us getting rid of him on a deal that includes Kessel or Letang tbh. I’m not mentioning Malkin because Geno is untradeable for me. |

Still can’t believe we didn’t go after PK Subban.
The waiting sucks.. we’re in for a long offseason without clearing a couple of our bad contracts. |

Hornqvist has a full NTC, right? So how are you supposed to move him from somewhere he doesn’t want to leave
Garrett Wilson does not look ready to replace anyone’s production. He looks good when he’s out there but he’s not creating much for his linemates and the guy cannot finish to save his life. Just because he works hard doesn’t guarantee success |

I’d say Vancouver (perhaps Minnesota) is the ideal place for Horny but someone needs to tell him that.
I’d welcome Wilson in a two-way contract really. Good call up.. not really a staple in the line up. |

Idk man. RW’s blogs have been lacking and the order has been screwy imo. He used to back up his opinions with multiple sources and/or graphs. More recently he’ll just pick one and run with it as his narrative
If anyone thinks this offseason looks bleak, wait until next when we have expansion implications and need to hand out raises to a top 4 RHD and Murray. At that point it won’t even be a debate, we will 100% have to cut the dead weight from the roster |

I would say that Vancouver is full now that they added Miller, they need to use their cap space on Boeser and they’re courting Myers hard
There are a number of teams where Horny could be a good fit including COL, MN, and back in Nashville. Some guys just flat out don’t want to uproot their families. It’s too bad that GMJR didn’t buy down his cap hit further with the NTC |

Not sure if this has been suggested, but how about a JJ for Daley swap? Similar cap hit, Daley having 1 more year left. Pens might need to + a little (prospect, etc). I know Daley isn't the best replacement but would relieve PIT of JJ's anchor and Daley's obviously got a strong history here. I'd be down if DET was willing. |

If the Panthers don’t get Panarin, I think you could try to get the Panthers to take Hornqvist and hopefully he’d waive his NTC based on the location and the fact he’ll get top 6 minutes again. |

I liked Daley while in Pittsburgh but it was just me. Most people here thought he sucked. I’m pretty sure he’s better than Jacko. |

Idk man. The only thing I know is we should try to trade a couple of those guys: J.Johnson, Gudbranson, Hörnqvist and Rust. |

He doesn’t have to produce much to replace Hornqvist 3rd line production. I also think the top two lines could benefit from Garrett Wilson. |
