Been a while since Ive posted here, but I gotta say Im super excited about the direction of the team and all these prospects.

I cant help wonder whats gonna happen with Kreider and Vesey and the fact that we could end up with no one on the left side. The overloaded right side. All the dead weight in defense. Theres a lot of potential moving parts. 🧐

Some hypotheticals to think about:
- Trading with EDM for Puljujarvi to give Kaapo a familiar face and teammate.
- Trading Vesey to BUF for Alexander Nylander.
- Trading Smith in an package to TOR for Zaitsev. TOR can then buyout Smith, we can buy out Staal. We get a solid stay at home Dman.
- To play off the previous 2 trades, reuniting the Nylander brothers?
- If we dont get Panarin:
— Do we make a move for Duchene? *I admittedly really want this*
— Do we make a move for Hall next year?

Im also not sure how to gauge Kreiders trade value.

New York bolsters the prospect list with their haul...

Pronman is trash for someone who watches prospects for a living. Even Craig Button is better than him.

Doesn’t Craig Button look like he is wearing a mask?

Supposedly Luongo could go on LTIR. If Bob wants 5-7 years, would FLA be willing to give him that after drafting Knight 13th? Would Hank at 2 years interest them if we retained 50%? Would Hank waive to play in sunny Florida?

Zaitsev doesn’t fit at all imo. I’m into buying low on guys, but him specifically, just has no room.

I’d get in on Duchene also, but he doesn’t seem like NY kind of guy/player

I think it’s Kreider for 7-8 years or Panarin for 7, one or the other. No Duchene, Hall, etc

Willy Ny is a dog apparently, risky imo

If we miss on Panarin I agree, sign Kreider.

I think it’s a 4 horse race for Panarin- Rangers, isles panthers and apparently Avs. I still like our chances, but it’s far from a guarantee. We’ve all penciled him the lineup a zillion times, it would hurt to not get him

IF NYR does sign him then the entire NHL will have them by t the balls and will get horrible returns if they try to unload any of Shatty, Smith, Nam, Kreider, etc b/c we'll be up against cap. Only way it works if Gorton does some moves before July 1.... And address the $$$ b4 he's signed

I wouldn’t expect much return on anyone other then Kreider. Maybe Vesey (I think he’s a shoe in to be moved by opening night ) and Georgy could

Nam I know he isn’t great but it’s only one more year and honestly, I’d rather just keep him to mentor Kravtsov, or just dump him if you need the cap space. Rather then worrying about would he’d get in a trade. Like I don’t think he’s this asset we have move for something, because the return won’t be much. He’d be fine on the 4th line for a year

If we get Panarin ----- fine, life is good but Kreider must go.

Plan B: No Panarin, sign Kreider OR

Plan C: Pursue trade for Meier or Kappanen, possibly using Kreider as bait

Lets all cross our fingers too that Zuc re-signs in Dallas so we get the extra 2020 first round pick in what is supposed to be a better draft than this year.

No Puljujarvi or Duchene...

Go Gorton Go!

I know you love him, but that is honestly the worst NHL trade by a team since the Duchene one. It’s beyond bad

Not sure you read it, but Cooper even dropped him to the 4th line. He sucks, plain and simple🤷🏻‍♂️

I'd give a 3/4 rounder and maybe add in salary dump Shatty or Smith for puljujarvi. Take a flyer on the Finnish connection and all.

Today was the start of talking to UFAs right? Maybe we’ll start hearing more definite news on Panarin and others. Then the trades will be like wildfire across the league 😈
