Having watched Zubov play many times throughout his career, I cannot believe he is a Hall of Famer!
Good player for sure, but HOF?? Just don't see it...

I agree, as per my just posted reply to you on Kreider, with the Rangers in effect, having very few players currently signed after these next two seasons.
- RangerSaver

As per Brooks, does NYR have to sign Kreider if Panarin goes elsewhere? I don't think Kreider is worth 7+mill per for 6/7 years. He can be traded, and then sign lesser FAs for short term...is that so bad? It's a much more methodical and prudent route..no?

He has 700 career points as a defensemen. He scored about 90 points in our cup year. I stand by my earlier post he was criminally underrated

I’d sign CK for 4 years, maybe 5 if push come to shove. I’m with you though, 7 years could be scary

One year left on Hoffmans contract. Maybe he plays well and we deal him at the deadline...

I trust Hank’s (and Marc Staal’s )control of the locker room

- Bean_Dip

Missing out on Panarain, I wouldn't mind 1 year of Hoffman, minus the crazy GF. female dog stays in Florida.

7x7 is a lot. As much as I like Kreider, well, not as much as others ,
I don't think he is worth that much, maybe 6x5.

The term scares me the most. I know I’d try to go under 7, but in a world where Hayes is getting over 7, I don’t think it’s an enormous stretch if he got that. Plus, you got another season of people resetting the market before the contract is signed.

I'd take 6x5, but not sure if he's do that. I can see him wanting Hayes contract. Hayes is center, so Kreider should be a bit less

Absolutely --- his season with the Rangers in 1994 was fantastic! Never approached that type of season again. Averaged approx. 45 pts/year for rest of his career. Very good, but HOF worthy?? Agree to disagree here...

He got those 45-50 pts a year in a mainly defensive era. When the post lockout era started, he put up 70 pts.

Ps look up Niedermayer and Borques stats during the late 90s, guess they weren’t HOF either 😉

Yeah but Willie K just got low balled by the Knights. The league knows how dumb the Hayes contract is.

I think will needs a new agent. That was an insane underpayment

You really want to compare Bourques' stats ( which were better BTW ) to Zubov's in the late 1990s? You realize Bourque was a full TEN YEARS older and still outplaying him?
Please don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
And if you think Zubov was in the same class defensively as Niedermayer, I really have nothing more to say --- I really have to question your knowledge of hockey. Sorry mate.
We can just agree to disagree.

He could have gave them home town discount ala Zuuk knowing their cap situation. He did drop pt total 20 pts this year as well after that one killer season

Bourque was older but Zubov was outplaying him. Niedermayer offensive numbers were pretty paltry. Plenty of seasons in the 30s. We can agree to disagree but you are selling Zubov wayyyyyyy short.

It’s possible. 50 pts is nothing to sneeze at though.

He’s a 50-60 point player, I think what he got was fair, slight underpayment maybe. That 1 year was not the norm for him.
