Though not necessarily within that limited time frame, I believe he has also dealt with the Leafs, the Hurricanes, the Panthers, the Flyers, the Knights, and the Jets. So he has traded with well over half the teams in the league during his tenure as GM.

So someone much smarter then me ran the numbers on Karlsson's $5.9M vs a Toronto $8.0M contract. Take it for what it is worth.

bob Verdi the old beat writer? And he is really must be older now in 2019. Like emeritus and retired. Tell you what Tyler.....growing up as a kid aspiring to be a team beat writer this Verdi sure knew how to write hockey language. There was one trade with Montreal that I wish he didn't made.

I'm really coming around to Dach, and the Hawks being sure they got their man. It's said he was the shut down guy on his team in WHL, opposing teams knew if he was contained they had a chance. When a team is loaded with talent, USA Development, some players may look good as part of that team, but their own, not dominating. So maybe Turcotte was not the guy. Remember, when someone said a fire hydrant could get 40 goals on a line with Gretsky, even the Cat, he kept dominating even after McDavid and Some left the OHL

Hearing about Turcotte hip injury would scare me off. Big man who can skate with soft hands typically dominate flow of play in the NHL. Hossa was 210 lbs and he was so hard to knock off the puck. Not saying Dach is going to be Hossa, btw drafted 12th, but i still see the smile on Bowman's face when they got up from their table at the draft.

So if Dach possesses NHL skills in camp, but not top 6 skills right away, with his size i can see him playing 4th line minutes, why not.

And they have to sign Rantanen? Plus half their team. They won't this is just too show their fan base, we tried.

If you ever wanted to screw with a franchise, I'd give an offer sheet to Rantanen, and either they would have to match it or get draft picks, I'm surprised teams with money don't do this to get these teams small market teams to the salary cap floor
