Hawks doctors suck! Two years of "I'm dizzy I don't know where I'm at" and they couldn't figure out he had MS until after he's traded? Bet McD went apepoop on that! They would have LTIR'd him and saved Tevo. - rpeters01

I’ll go out on a limb and say Vlasic has a better career than Byram. - Ogilthorpe2
The way Dach pickpocketed Byram and he just stood there while Dach scored, yeah I can see that happening. |

I saw Slavin a couple of times after he was traded to the Steel. Nice game, another big strong wing, was not afraid to take the puck to the net and did it often.
I believe he’ll be a freshman at Colorado College this fall. Probably at least a year away from signing. |

Right? If only they’d know sooner, they could’ve gotten him antibiotics sooner. |

Pretty unfair claim. MS is one of the most difficult disorders to definitively diagnose as no two people experience the same symptoms.
Complicate that with a potentially legit initial diagnosis of post concussion syndrome, and you see why it took so long.
Disastrous outcome all around. Had Bickell been healthy he was the Hawks’ true power forward. Losing him was a big hole that never got filled. |

Hypothetically Dach makes the team, nice looking Top 6 of
Dach-Toews-Kane
Saad-Strome-Debrincat
Or do you go with a big boy line like the Hawks did with Saad-Toes-Hossa, and have that line be: Saad-Toews-Dach, and Dach plays his more comfortable right wing.
Then you have a 2nd line of Debrincat-Strome-Kane. Interesting because you have your best passer fedeing your best sniper.
All hinges if Dach makes the roster, agreed no rush, sometimes fun to speculate though. - ChicagoHope
You split up Toews and Kane because pairing them makes JT worse on defensive zone starts. Plus, as you mention, it puts Kane with DCat and sets up 88 with a sniper like he had with Panarin. |

Yes, and he played well for Dallas during the playoffs. If the term/$ was good, could be a good fit for the Hawks. - Chief4Feathers
Would look great on the second power play unit. Appears to be a fan favorite and enjoyed playing in large citywith the Rags. Wonder what he's looking for in terms of dollars? He'd wear the Indian Head with pride. No doubts, whatsoever.

Q is soo close infact. He is likely right there if you are willing to give him a real start in the NHL. He is loud and infectious in a good way so he should be immediately liked and also he has some leadership qualities from captaining a few good Wheatkings teams. He also isnt afraid to stand up for a team mate or himself but he wont be going out looking for it ever. - Devilish4
Plus, he's a future replacement for Colliton. |

Ms is extremely difficult to diagnose have friend who has it took doctors a long time to figure out what was wrong had similar syptoms as bickell. |

Are you serious? This is a free country. The cap is the same for every team. Just in some states there are higher taxes that players must pay. But those are the states the are run the best...utopias.... - TrueGrit
Yup totally serious. I don’t know what a free country has anything to do with it. These teams in so called undesirable markets (Winnipeg, Buffalo) have a tough enough time luring free agents and teams is FL, NV and others have a tax advantage. In theory they can pay a player less than another team which generates more cap space.
I really don’t care that much, was just curious how big the advantage is. |

Well, that was an...interesting backread.
learned. there is cap space and real cap space. one or more doctors post on this site. Pronman's grade on the draft means everything. Saad, AA and Keith are unproductive.
Essentially all their guys are better than our guys
Did I forget anything?

I think the exact same way. It is a disadvantage to teams that have a higher state tax than others.
Time to bring in the luxury tax like baseball. I dont think it's fair when a fan pays $200 a seat to sit at the glass but a low market team has a fan sitting at the glass for $100. The higher market teams lose players to the lower market teams because of the salary cap and the fans are paying double to watch there team play. |

Stan is either an idiot, or a genius, or both.
Anyone who doesn't get in fights is useless.
*AND*
Every trade is going to be massively skewed in the hawks favour.

Another interesting factoid, players get paid in American dollars, even players playing in Canada. |

On a related note, I was thinking that there may be some advantage to having a compensatory pick awarded to the team that loses a UFA to another team signing them - similar to MLB and NBA. The NHLPA might not like the idea as it could dampen UFA demand - but it would help teams keep or at least recoup something in losing a player. |

Dach is certainly an exciting addition to the team. Hopefully they don’t rush him into the NHL. |
