I didn't say Fletcher. It's the organization.

You said "he's okay with drafting players like O'Brien"

he’s an enabler of this perpetual mediocrity?

is he pulling the strings telling them who to draft?

no that can’t be it, but maybe the Flyers scouts and management are reading his social media when it comes down to deciding the next pick?

You’re a riot

I wanted to respond but you said it all. Thank you.

Kapanen unofficially signs 3 years at 3.2-3.4 mill range. Theres the baseline for Konecny. Kapanen had 5 less points than Konecny.

Would rather get TK locked up long term but that's a lower hit than I was expecting.

Wonder if TK would do 5 x 4.5

Konecny had back to back seasons of 20+ goals and 45+ points. He's going to get more.

Gostisbehere and Tyson Barrie...
Hearing similar teams looking at each player...Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal, Chicago, Toronto....I don't see it happening at the Draft...

I’m being a Richard? GTFO.

What kids did you watch? Seriously. If you watched some, say who and how — was it in person? YouTube highlights? Prospect tournaments on television?

What kids did you see? What kids didn’t you see?

- AllInForFlyers

I've watched a number of games across various leagues, tournaments and countries as well as highlight videos on a large number of these kids. I'm not pretending to be an expert but get off your high horse and stop assuming that people who post daily on a hockey forum don't actually follow hockey more closely than an average fan.

Of course he is. But this is a good baseline for where he may be. Certainly less than 5, which is where I thought he would fall.

That's fine but unless you don't have a job and no family responsibilities, you couldn't possibly have watched these players enough to have anything more than a cursory knowledge of these players.

LOL

“I am outraged that the 18-year-old I never saw play who a mock draft told me to like wasn’t the pick in favor of another guy I never saw play who that same mock draft told me about”

- AllInForFlyers

Lmao!! This answer wins this room today!! Bravo!!

There are some seriously butthurt armchair GMs in here.
I like everything fletcher has done except the Braun trade. But nobody is perfect. The draft was solid. I think people forget that the same scouts are still here minus Pryor so I think it would have been the same picks anyway. Fletcher is the face. The scouts do the hard work. How is that not already understood?

Part of me thought Hagg was going to be moved for picks today. Now that it didn't happen I have no clue what they're gonna do with the 8th d man. I don't think sending Myers back down is going to do him much good at this point but I suppose it's a real possibility.

That's fine. Like I said, I'm no scout. But never seeing anyone play which he accused people of is absolute bs.

plenty of time to move hagg. No rush. Wait until camp if need be. A team has an injury or their depth dont look so hot.

myers wont be sent down unless he poops the bed bad.

Kapanen's deal is a bridge deal. Have to consider what kind of deal Konecny will sign. If it's long term and moving into UFA years, that will raise the AAV. Konecny needs 4 Accrued seasons to reach UFA status.

Yeah, plenty of time. I only assumed today because I figured they'd be trying to get today's picks for him.

Great. Awesome.

So of your viewings, what did you think of Brink? Attard? Millman? York?

What was your assessment?

Or did you not see them?

Depending on what scouting resources being used in his 15 to 25 range alone there are a bunch. Raphael Lavoie, Matthew Robertson, Nils Hoglander and others. Outside of his 15 to 25 that I just listed still on the board were Leason, Vlasic, Afanasyov, Korczak, Firstov, Kniazev.

I'm a little surprised they got a deal done with Kapenen before Marner but I guess they're in pretty good shape after moving Marleau

Do you think the Flyers scouting staff is incompetent for passing up all those "better" players?

They are still tight and will likely have to move someone else. But Marleau was a huge break for them. Especially if cap comes in at 81

Yes there were, and a bunch more in the second round that are better prospects.

Have to remember that the Leafs still have Nathon Horton who will go on LTIR. If they can maneuver so they put Horton on LTIR after the season starts, they will effectively raise their upper limit by 5.3M

I love the Flyers draft. For one reason. I have no clue about any of these players. So I default.
