The Edmonton/Rust thing came from an Edmonton beat writer on Twitter. Didnt see any of the major news outlets pick that rumor up.

Get used to it. Once their RFAs are signed, the Pens are probably done.

Shero exchanged a slightly used Larsson, Santini, Davies and two 2nds for Hall and Subban. Prettt incredible. Not to mention with Hall came the automatic back to back first overall picks. I liked Vatanen for Henrique and he got decent value for MoJo

Wouldn’t surprise me if they get Gardiner and a solid winger

Let’s be happy we aren’t Vancouver fans. They’re finally inching towards the playoff discussion and trade for a legit top 6 winger and everyone is talking about them mortgaging the future and how bad the trade was. Holy yikes

I think NJ have set themselves (including their farm system) very nicely for the next 5 seasons as long as Shero doesn't get stupid. Im more worried about the Devils, Canes, and Rags now than I've been in a while.

The Metro is going to interesting next year. I don't expect the Rangers, barring any more major additions, to be a playoff team for another two years, but I definitely don't expect them to bottom feed.

The Devils? Depending on how fast Hughes has an impact they could be a playoff team this coming season.

There's definitely a theme with the Pens' selections.

So... this 3rd rounder we snagged. Pegged to have been an early to mid 2nd round pick but fell this far?

What happened to make that occur? And is his odds of playing 200 games (RW stats bleh) near the same as the 3 picks we used to get him?

I'm out and searching on my phone sucks

Side note, anyone see that we have a cap penalty this year? 132k due to Jake putting up so many points an earning an extra bonus.

I'll be fine if any of them can actually play in the NHL....unlike all those D Shero drafted.

The reason said bonus put the Pens over the cap was the 7 Mil 3rd Pairing

Pronman had Legare as one of his "Best available players of day 2"...

Nathan Legare, RW, Baie-Comeau-QMJHL

Jan. 11, 2001 | six-foot | 196 pounds

Legare was a top player on one of the best teams in the CHL. The best way to describe him is he’s a power play weapon. He lines up on the left circle typically and creates so much havoc from that spot. First, he’s got one of the best shots in the draft. He’s scored a lot of goals this season wiring a shot from long distance off a post/crossbar or blowing it past a goalie. He’s a great scorer and it’s where he’ll make his money, but he’s also a very smart overall player. Legare can hit tight seams consistently and is very crafty overall with the puck. He’s not often going to wow you with an end-to-end rush, but he’s skilled. A wonky skating stride is Legare’s most noticeable weakness. He has a decent top gear, but the stride isn’t smooth with a rough first step, and he can tail off toward the end of a shift. Legare is a big body forward, but he’s not overweight, it’s a lot of muscle. That’s good, but also a minor cause for concern as scouts wonder if the skating can ever improve because his strength level is so advanced already. He’s also tough on pucks, goes to the net, is physical and is hard to dislodge along the boards.

Lol I really liked the Poulin and Légaré picks. Buddies and Team Canada material. Hard working guys.

Guys.. just remember that things could be worse. My roommate is from Chicago and she’s female. I fully expect her to remain locked in her room all weekend because the Hawks traded away John Hayden (I expect most of you are thinking “who?” As you should since you didn’t know Kahun. Hayden is much, much worse) and the sky is falling. Emotions will be running high for a week or so I imagine
- WSCTeton17

That's because she's a female and it's about his looks. No one on the hawks board is upset.
